With the WWDC behind us, all attention is now focused on the September release of the iPhone 7. While there have been plenty of leaks surrounding the design – which will supposedly look much like the iPhone 6s – and the features – the lack of headphone jack being the most oft-discussed, not much has been proposed as far as pricing. However, a new rumor posted on Chinese social media site Weibo allegedly reveals leaked pricing details for the upcoming phone.

The “leak” allegedly shows pricing for 32GB, 64GB, and 256GB models of the iPhone 7, and 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB models of the iPhone 7 Plus and rumored iPhone 7 Pro models. Although recent leaks purported to show components for a 16GB base model, the pricing model from Weibo seems to confirm many earlier rumors that Apple will opt for a 32GB base model, dropping the 16GB model from their lineup.

In the past, Apple has tended to keep prices for their new iPhone devices in line with the previous generation upon initial release. According to the rumor, that appears to be true for the iPhone 7 release, as well. The reference to the iPhone 7 Pro, however, which will reportedly feature a dual-camera system and a Smart Connector for accessories, obviously shows an increase in price over the iPhone 7 Plus models.

According the the Weibo post, the pricing for the new iPhone 7 models, as compared to the iPhone 6s models, are as follows:

  • iPhone 6s: 16GB – ¥5288 / $804, 64GB – ¥6088 / $925, 128GB – ¥6888 / $1047
  • iPhone 7: 32GB – ¥5288 / $804, 64GB – ¥6088 / $925, 256GB – ¥7088 / $1077
  • iPhone 6s Plus: 16GB – ¥6088 / $925, 64GB – ¥6888 / $1047, 128GB – ¥7788 / $1184
  • iPhone 7 Plus: 32GB – ¥6088 / $925, 128GB – ¥6888 / $1047, 256GB – ¥7888 / $1199
  • iPhone 7 Pro: 32GB – ¥7088 / $1077, 128GB – ¥7888 / $1199, 256GB – ¥8888 / $1351

As with many of the “leaks” and rumors that come out of Weibo, this pricing model should be taken with a grain of salt. And with so many rumors floating around, the storage options and even the addition of the “Pro” model both confirm and clash with rumors and leaks that are being reported around the web. However, it should be noted that this pricing model makes sense, as it lines up with the way Apple typically prices their new iPhone models.

The iPhone 7 is expected to launch this coming September alongside the recently introduced iOS 10. This time around, there have been so many conflicting rumors and leaks it’s hard to tell exactly what features the new phone will have.

Most agree that the design will be very similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with redesigned antenna lines, a lack of the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, and spruced up internal hardware. A third model, known at the moment as the iPhone 7 Pro, will, as previously discussed, likely feature a dual camera system capable of true optical zoom and impressive image stabilization, and a smart connector for adding accessories.

Most also agree that, although this year’s iPhone release is a bit of a marginal one, 2017 will possibly see the release of an all-new, completely redesigned iPhone, featuring an all-glass enclosure, a bezel-free OLED display with a FaceTime Camera and Touch ID sensor embedded underneath, and wireless charging.
