Apple may be developing a series of devices with mini-LED displays, including a new 14.1-inch MacBook Pro model. This latest rumor comes from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who reported in December that Apple was working with mini-LED technology for upcoming devices.

Apple reportedly is planning to release a handful of new devices, including a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a 27-inch iMac Pro a 14.1-inch MacBook Pro, a 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 10.2-inch iPad, and a 7.9-inch iPad mini.

All of those devices will feature mini-LED displays that are brighter, blacker, and more power-efficient than traditional LED and OLED displays.

Among these devices, the 14.1-inch MacBook Pro is the most intriguing because it’s a new size for Apple’s popular notebook series.

A 14.1-inch model would certainly be more portable than the current 16-inch model and would also offer more screen real estate than the 13-inch model Apple now sells.

The 14.1-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be sold alongside a new 16-inch model also equipped with a mini-LED display.

Tentative launch dates for these devices are still a guess. According to Kuo, Apple’s suite of mini-LED devices is expected to debut in 2020 and 2021.

Among the first mini-LED devices to debut could be Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which may land as soon as fall of 2020 and the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is projected for the fourth quarter of 2020.
