Samsung taunted Apple when the Cupertino company decided to remove the charging block and the earbuds from its iPhone 12 packaging. Now the Korean company may be again following in Apple’s footsteps.

Recently leaked photos of the upcoming Galaxy S21 box suggest Samsung is shipping its phone without a charger or companion earbuds.

As posted by WinFuture via Redmond Pie, the new Galaxy S21 box looks as sleek and slim as Apple’s iPhone 12 box. Rumors claim that the slimmed-down box is too small to house these accessories.

Adding even more proof to this rumor is the leaked “What’s in the box” information, which hints that the phone will only ship with a quick start guide, a USB-C cable, and a SIM tool. There are no earbuds or a charging block included on this list.

Just like Apple, Samsung likely ditched the earbuds and charging block to cut down on production costs.

Not only does Samsung not have to manufacture these accessories, but the company also saves money on packaging and shipping.

Samsung may also be making these changes to cut down on e-waste as most consumers don’t use the earbuds or the charging block bundled with new smartphones.
