4 Edge-to-Edge OLED
Every iPhone thus far has used LCD displays, including the current-generation iPhone 7. While the incremental iPhone 7s update is expected to retain the LCD screens, the iPhone 8 is pretty much confirmed to be the first iPhone to sport an OLED display. OLED displays carry a number of advantages, like deeper blacks, better contrast, wider viewing angles, and better battery life.
The iPhone 8 is also the first Apple flagship to do away with bezels entirely, and will instead feature a stunning edge-to-edge display that’ll take up basically the entire front of the device. We’ve already heard rumors that all iPhones in 2018 will feature OLED displays, so it stands to reason that Apple will eventually switch its entire lineup over to the edge-to-edge design, too. A 4-inch iPhone with a full-device display is still on our wish list.
