2 Face ID
Touch ID has been one of the most widely talked about iPhone 8 features. Specifically, whether the fingerprint sensor will be rear-mounted or display-embedded. Unfortunately for fans of either idea, the evidence is mounting that the iPhone 8 won’t include a Touch ID fingerprint sensor at all.
In its place, the iPhone 8 is rumored to have advanced facial recognition technology for biometric authentication. In simple terms, “Face ID.” The iPhone 8’s selfie camera is already expected to sport advanced 3D sensors and infrared tech that’ll allow for a secure biometric system that isn’t as easily fooled as others. Of course, whether “Face ID” will be secure enough to replace Touch ID entirely in future iPhones remains to be seen.
