4 Major iPhone X Details Leaked By Disgruntled Apple Employee

Over the weekend, a trove of key details about Apple’s impending iPhone devices began circulating the web, in what BBC News independently confirmed was an internal leak of URLs containing code for the company’s iOS 11 golden master (GM) software build.
As syndicated Apple blogger, John Gruber, noted, “more surprises were spoiled by this leak than any leak in Apple history,” suggesting that the information, which most notably included that the iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and 8 will actually be called the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X, respectively, is the biggest of its kind to hit the Cupertino-company ever.
“Someone within Apple leaked the list of URLs [to 9to5mac],” Gruber continued, while adding that “I'm nearly certain this wasn't a mistake, but rather a deliberate malicious act by a rogue Apple employee.”
While noteworthy iPhone X and iPhone 8 details had leaked courtesy of Apple’s previous HomePod hi-jinx, some of Twitter's most notorious iOS developers were able to further confirm a bevy of game-changing details about the flagships in the latest leak — not only confirming some of our previous sentiments, but collectively hint that the iPhones we’ll see on stage tomorrow are going to be Apple’s most impressive yet. 4 Animoji
Discovered in the iOS 11 GM code for the very first time is what Apple has allegedly dubbed ‘Animoji’ — an emoji-based feature that will utilize the iPhone X’ 3D face sensors to “create custom 3D animated emoji based on the expressions you make into the camera,” according to 9to5mac.
Within iOS 11 GM’s code, the Animoji feature is described as ‘custom animated messages that use your voice and reflect your facial expressions’. The 3D emojis will reportedly embody the same 2D emoji templates from iOS releases past, but have been recreated in 3D for use exclusively on the iPhone X. At launch, iPhone X users will be able to make and send Animoji of everything from unicorns, to robots, pigs, chicken, dogs, pile of poo, and so many more of your favorite emojis.
3 Camera Upgrades and Face ID
Among the first details to leak pertain to the iPhone X’s camera improvements, which will most notably include an all-new Portrait Lighting feature. The feature appears to be an extension of the iPhone 7 Plus’ Portrait mode functionality, which was introduced last year as a key selling point of Apple's new dual-lens camera system. Whereas standard Portrait mode allows iPhone 7 Plus users to create stunning, DSLR-caliber photos by simulating depth via certain lighting effects, Apple’s new Portrait Lighting feature will supposedly incorporate a trove of new filters/lighting effects — such as Contour Light, Natural Light, Stage Light, Stage Light Mono, and Studio Light, among others, giving users a more well-rounded portfolio of effects to capture the perfect shot.
Additionally, iOS 11 GM code revealed information about the iPhone X' new video recording resolution and capture speeds: 1080p HD at 240 fps, 4K at 24 fps, and 4K at 60 fps. It also appears that at least the OLED-equipped iPhone X will ship with a True Tone display, which should help with white and color balancing just like it does on the new iPad Pro models.
Last but not least, it appears that Face ID will in fact be the name Apple uses for its new biometric facial recognition technology, which was corroborated in the HomePod leaks earlier this year. Face ID, which should notably work much quicker than Touch ID and eventually facilitate Apple Pay transactions, will reportedly be taking the place of Apple’s iconic fingerprint sensing technology on the iPhone X.
2 RAM
It was recently rumored that Apple's top-tier iPhone 8, as well as the LCD-equipped iPhone 7s Plus, would feature 3 GB of RAM while the 4.7-inch iPhone 7s would boast the same 2 GB as its predecessor. According to notorious iOS developer Steve Troughton-Smith, who's previously shared a wealth of leaked iPhone X information to Twitter, these RAM appropriations can be confirmed.

1 A11 Fusion SoC
While we knew it was bound to be a beast, it turns out that the powerful A11 SoC utilized in all of Apple’s iPhone X and iPhone 8 models is an outright achievement in mobile computing, according to developer Steve Troughton-Smith, who alleges that the silicon is built on a revolutionary 6 core (4+2 core) design. This can’t be confirmed until further notice, of course, but Troughton-Smith goes on to suggest that the A11 SoC is comprised of two, high-power ‘Monsoon’ cores, which will work in conjunction with a lower-powered, quad-core cluster used for managing less intensive tasks.
