1 A11 Fusion SoC
While we knew it was bound to be a beast, it turns out that the powerful A11 SoC utilized in all of Apple’s iPhone X and iPhone 8 models is an outright achievement in mobile computing, according to developer Steve Troughton-Smith, who alleges that the silicon is built on a revolutionary 6 core (4+2 core) design. This can’t be confirmed until further notice, of course, but Troughton-Smith goes on to suggest that the A11 SoC is comprised of two, high-power ‘Monsoon’ cores, which will work in conjunction with a lower-powered, quad-core cluster used for managing less intensive tasks.
