The Apple Watch Series 2 maintains the same design as the original but is packed with updates under the hood. In this video, I’ll dive into everything you need to know about the latest Apple Watch.

Speed Boost

As is true with many first generation products, there were a number of issues with the original Apple Watch; none of which were more important than speed (or lack of speed, that is).

The first generation Apple Watch was plagued with painfully slow loading times. The most notable improvement in the Series 2 Apple Watch is its boosted performance. The Series 2 features a brand new dual-core S2 processor. Also, watchOS 3 features a ton of enhancements to make the watch feel even faster.

Waterproof

While the original Apple Watch was water resistant, the Series 2 takes things to the next level. It’s rated waterproof up to a depth of 50 meters. The workout app now features two new swim modes, which will track your exercise in the pool and in open water.

Improved Display

The display in the original Apple Watch was pretty good, but Apple claims the Series 2 display is more than twice as bright. The display on the Series 2 reaches 1000 nits, which is equivalent to 1000 candles, making it the brightest display Apple has ever made.

Just Breathe

There’s also a new built-in app on the watch that Apple spent of good deal of time talking about during the September keynote. The app is called Breathe. A couple of times a day you will get a notification prompting you to take a few deep breaths. The app is simple and walks you through a minute of deep breathing while the Taptic feedback from the watch assists with timing your inhale properly, which is a nice touch.

In addition to Just Breathe, you’ll find tons of health minded enhancements to the Apple Watch, solidifying the device as a health nut’s must-have.
