Want to save some money on Apple’s latest and greatest 16-inch MacBook Pro? Well, as of today, you could stand to get up to a 15 percent discount.
Apple has begun selling certified refurbished 16-inch MacBook Pro models in the U.S. this week, marking the first time that the updated Mac notebook has been available on Apple’s refurbished storefront since it was released back in November.
Refurbished?
Don’t be skeptical about buying a certified refurbished MacBook, either. Apple thoroughly inspects, cleans and repairs refurbished products and replaces any necessary parts with brand new ones. Even if nothing is wrong, all certified refurbished devices get a new battery, new charging accessories, and all of the original manuals.
They even come with Apple’s standard one-year warranty, which users can extend to up to three years with AppleCare+. For all intents and purposes, certified refurbished products are basically indistinguishable from a brand new model.
That makes this a great opportunity to get the best Apple notebook currently available at a discount. That may be especially true since many slow upgraders have been holding out for a computer with a better keyboard.
16-inch MacBook Pro Features
The 16-inch MacBook Pro has just that: a more traditional scissor-switch keyboard called the Magic Keyboard. In addition to a classic typing experience, the Magic Keyboard should also prove to be much more reliable.
There are other reasons that the 16-inch MacBook Pro is Apple’s best yet. It comes with heavily updated thermal architecture for better performance, the latest 9th-generation Intel processors, and a significantly upgraded audio experience.
It’s also worth noting that the base tier of the new MacBook Pro comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD — a big step up from previous models.
We’ve previously written why Apple’s Certified Refurbished Store is one of the best places to get a new Apple device without paying the full price. And while you may be able to find similar deals elsewhere (like on Amazon), ordering directly from Apple saves you from searching and comparing.
Currently, there appears to be a range of configurations available. So, if you’re in the market for a new MacBook, be sure to check Apple’s refurbished storefront.
