Have you ever wanted to engrave your AirPods or AirPods Pro case with an emoji character? Now you can.

Apple on Friday updated its AirPods charging case personalization options to allow users to engrave certain emojis characters onto their devices. It announced the change with a new banner advertising the “new personal engraving options, from A to emoji.”

The new options are available for both AirPods Pro and AirPods charging cases. For the latter Apple headphones, you can engrave both the wireless charging or standard options.

You won’t be able to engrave just any emoji character onto your AirPods quite yet, however. To start, Apple is only making a set of 31 different emoji options available.

Currently, the engravable emoji include smiley face, kissy face, thumbs up, peace sign, fist, heart, star, snake, cat, tiger, bear unicorn, ghost, poop, robot, skull and alien.

In addition to the new emoji options, Apple also seems to have quietly but significantly bumped up the size of the engraved text that can be added to AirPods.

Users will be able to pick the option they want by choosing “Add engraving” and “Emoji” during the checkout process. There’s no additional cost to add an engraving. It’s worth noting that you’ll be able to choose text or an emoji, but not both.

As with any of Apple’s laser engravings, the customization is only available from Apple.com. Keep in mind that customized AirPods may take longer to ship out to you, and you won’t be able to return it for a refund.

Apple may bring emoji customization options to its other devices with personalization available, such as iPhones and iPads, but at this point, you can only engrave emojis on AirPods cases. Whether Apple will add new emoji options to its personalization settings also remains to be seen.
