It’s never too early to start planning your summer barbecue. Grab a new grill and begin preparing for months of outdoor cooking – but not just any old grill.. Now, grill manufacturer Traeger is here to make your grilling cooler and easier than ever, thanks to an Apple Watch app that’ll interface with these compatible grills.

Traeger announced its new Apple Watch app that’ll bring almost all of the iPhone app’s features to the watch. The new Traeger Apple Watch app will connect to the company’s WiFIRE grills.

Shop compatible grills on Traeger’s website, or on Amazon.

Not only will the Apple Watch app show you the temperature of the meat that you are cooking, but it also will provide a handful of controls that lets you customize the grilling of your meat. You can change cooking modes, set a timer, and change the probe temperature.

Grill Temp: Users can monitor and control their grill temperature in real-time and make adjustments from anywhere, be it from the kitchen or the ski slopes.

Probe Temp: Cooks can set a desired internal temperature and monitor their progress without ever lifting the lid.

Keep Warm: Once the food on the grill is complete, but the rest of the dishes in the kitchen need some additional prep, users can set their grill to “Keep Warm Mode” to reduce the grill temperature and ensure the food is ready when you are.

Timer: These alerts notify the cook when it’s ready to sauce, check, or pull the food.

Pellet Level: The pellet sensor will display current pellet levels in real-time, so users know when to re-load the hopper and keep the stoked fire burning.

Super Smoke Mode: This feature allows users to blast their food with 100% hardwood smoke between temperatures from 165 up to 225 degrees. Users can adjust the grill temperature between the mode ranges, or switch on or off.

To take advantage of this new Apple Watch functionality, you need to own a compatible WiFIRE grill. If you don’t want to make that much of an investment, you could grab a smart thermometer for less than $100.
