Teen Captures Ghostly Fisherman in Eerie Selfie

Across the world, people take hundreds of thousands of pictures every day with their iPhones. And occasionally, they’ll capture something very out of the ordinary.

That’s what happened to 13-year-old Haley Ogletree while on a fishing trip with her brother Kolton and her grandparents, Dennis and Vera, in Tifton, Georgia. While routinely snapping a selfie, young Haley captured something eerie with her smartphone camera — and her mother, Jessica, took to Facebook to share the mysterious discovery.

“This picture was taken by my 13 year old daughter earlier today at Paradise,” Ogletree wrote in a Facebook post. “Notice my son Kolton in the background and then notice the gentleman standing to his right!!! Ya’ll this gentlemen was NOT with them today and there was no one else at these back ponds where they were fishing.”

Haley reportedly discovered the mystery figure when she was going through the photos some time after she took them, and immediately called her mother after the discovery, according to a local Charlotte news station. While she was — rightfully — freaked out, her mother was apparently more intrigued and excited than frightened.

“I personally think it’s pretty cool because today is Kolton’s birthday and he caught the biggest fish he’s ever caught!” Jessica added, “It looks like the man is happy for him!”

This certainly isn’t the first time that a casual picture has captured something unexpected. Across the internet, there are many selfies and iPhone snaps that people allege have inadvertently ended up with ghosts, apparitions and other paranormal activity in them. Most of these photos cause quite a stir on social media — even if some are later proven to be the work of Photoshop, or just well-placed optical illusions.
