Delving headlong into the spirit of the season this week is T-Mobile — the U.S. subsidiary of Deutsche Telecom — who just unveiled the carrier’s first perk of their latest “Un-carrier Unwrapped” promotion. “What’s the promotion?” you ask.

Well, according to the company’s press release, existing customers on T-Mo’s new and improved LTE network are poised to get a sweet treat beginning December 1st, taking the form of three whole months worth of free and unlimited LTE data.

John Legere

John Legere, the CEO of T-mobile, is presumably taking a shot at the other three big, domestic carriers — Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T — as usual, by offering an assortment of incentives to customers on those networks over the course of the next month.

“But that’s not all …. We know that Verizon, AT&T and Sprint customers need some holiday cheer, too – so we’ve got presents coming for them,” said Legere in the press release.

As part of the new promotion, T-Mobile is gearing up to give all existing Simple Choice plan customers unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data for three months, an offer that automatically goes into effect on December 1, and will last until the end of February, 2016. Even despite T-Mo’s generosity, however, there are a few limitations to this otherwise exciting offer. Chiefly among them, smartphone owners will be unable to use the unlimited LTE when a second device is tethered to their smartphone.

Additionally, the magenta carrier is running a slew of Black Friday deals, including a free tablet giveaway for qualifying customers, as well as other hardware discounts.

T-Mobile, in recent years, has been getting considerably more aggressive, honing in on its efforts to lure customers to its new and improved 4G LTE network from Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint — their latest attempt being the “Un-Carrier” promotion. Currently the third-largest U.S. carrier, T-Mobile recently debuted an all-you-can-eat video streaming service earlier this month, as well, referred to as “Binge On,” which gives certain subscribers (of higher-tier plans) access to high-definition content from streaming apps like Netflix and HBO free of charge.

The free LTE data promotion applies to all postpaid, Simple Choice plan customers who have an active account on T-Mobile as of the end of Monday, November 30th.
