Apple is releasing its weekly content refresh a day early this week to make sure you can enjoy its latest shows while relaxing after a big Thanksgiving feast.

Although Apple TV+ has never officially set a day for the arrival of new content, it’s traditionally been on Friday each week, with only a few exceptions. For example, Apple has released new episodes of its flagship show, Foundation, late Thursday evenings. Most, however, show up in the wee hours of Friday morning.

This year, however, the entire weekly lineup of new shows and episodes is available now, including Dickinson, Acapulco, Invasion, The Shrink Next Door, Swagger, and Dr. Brain.

Meanwhile, however, Apple’s two biggest drama series’ of the fall, The Morning Show and Foundation, both wrapped up their season finales last week. Of course, they’re still all available on Apple TV+, so the long weekend makes a good opportunity to binge-watch those if you’re not already caught up, or if you’ve been waiting until they’ve all landed, so you don’t have to wait a week in between episodes.

Today’s release also isn’t just for viewers in the U.S. Even though it’s just another Thursday everywhere else in the world, the weekly lineup has launched on Apple TV+ globally.

’Twas the Fight Before Christmas

In addition to the continuation of Apple’s six ongoing projects, this week also heralds the debut of a new Apple Original Films entry, ’Twas the Fight Before Christmas.

This unique new 90-minute documentary covers the true-life story of Jeremy Morris, a North Idaho man who just wants to spread a bit of Christmas cheer but runs afoul of the rules of the neighbourhood’s homeowners’ association.

Morris’ plans, however, seem to go beyond “a bit,” quickly spiralling out of control as he ignores the warnings of his neighbours, decking out his house with 200,000 Christmas lights, ordering a live camel for his front yard, and forging ahead with a Christmas Show expected to attract thousands of people to the neighbourhood to see his house.

As the neighbours continue to more and more vocally and actively oppose Morris’ Christmas extravaganza, he decides to take the homeowners’ association to court, claiming religious discrimination. ’Twas the Fight Before Christmas talks to Morris and several of his neighbours to ask the question of who actually wins when different rights and interests collide, but it also manages to deal with the issues mostly in a fun, quirky, and lighthearted way.

You can always subpoena the camel.

Other Apple TV+ Holiday Specials

Apple TV+ subscribers can also sit back and enjoy A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which has been available on the service since last year, along with the other two classics, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and the original A Charlie Brown Christmas for those who want to jump into the festive season right away.

You’ll have to wait a bit longer for Apple’s other original Christmas specials, however. Mariah Carey is returning this year with Mariah’s Christmas, The Magic Continues, which will debut globally next Friday with a singing and dancing holiday spectacular that will also include Grammy-nominated artist Khalid and Grammy winner Kirk Franklin, plus a dazzling, new rendition of fan favourite, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).”

Then, later next month, we’re also hoping to see the first new Charlie Brown holiday special in nearly 20 years. While Apple has yet to officially announce it, industry sources have said it’s coming the following Friday, December 10, with a title of For Auld Lang Syne, making it also the first-ever Peanuts special that doesn’t include either Charlie Brown or Snoopy in the title.
