As you might have noticed, Apple makes new iPhone color options with every new model year, and this year’s iPhone 15 lineup will be no exception. The new colors work to set each new iPhone generation apart from previous generations. (Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro boasts a dark purple color option.)

Today, a report from 9to5Mac claims this year’s new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will continue the yearly tradition. The website’s “unnamed source” says Apple has an exclusive dark red color in the works for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max handsets. The new color option is described as being close to a burgundy shade. The color’s hex code is  #410D0D, which is known as dark sienna.

Meanwhile, the lower-end iPhone 15 models could boast their own new and exclusive new colors, dark pink and light blue. The dark pink shade’s color hex code is #CE3C6C which is a deeper pink, known as “telemagenta.” The light blue color’s hex code is #4DB1E2, and is known as “picton blue.”

iPhone 15 color possibilities

Fans of Apple’s traditional (PRODUCT)RED iPhones will be glad to know that the new dark sienna red color for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will likely be sold alongside the (PRODUCT)RED handsets. Apple has long sold a variety of (PRODUCT)RED devices and accessories. A portion of the profits for sales of (PRODUCT)RED merchandise goes to (RD) to fight AIDS and other diseases.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro lineups will likely retain the more traditional color options, including silver, gold, and space gray. The dark sienna color may be used for the rumored titanium finish for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Apple has offered titanium finishes for the Apple Watch (in a standard silver titanium color and a darker titanium color) but red anodization would be a new option.

The standard iPhone 15 models could feature color options that include black, white, and red.

Of course, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro color option information could change before Apple unveils the new iPhones in September. However, Apple makes its plans well in advance of launching its devices, so the iPhone color choices will likely be set before too long.

Earlier today, iDropNews reported that leaked 3D CAD files show the iPhone 15 will integrate a USB-C port, while also revealing that Apple will bring the Dynamic Island, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, to the two lower-priced iPhone 15 models. The CAD files show the camera arrays on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will remain mostly unchanged.

Apple traditionally debuts its new iPhone 15 lineups sometime in September, and things aren’t expected to change for this year’s unveiling. The new iPhone is expected to run an A17 Bionic chip, have more RAM, replace the Lightning port with a USB-C port, and support WiFi 6E connectivity. Minor design changes are expected for the iPhone 15 chassis, as we expect to see a deeper curve to the devices’ edges. Apple may also use a titanium material in place of stainless steel.
