As expected, Apple finally revealed its new iPhone lineup last week, along with three new Apple Watch models and even a new pair of AirPods Pro. While all of these new products look amazing and we can’t wait to try them out, not everything is good news.

As is tradition, whenever Apple launches an update to a new product, older models are discontinued almost immediately. That doesn’t mean that you can’t find them elsewhere or that Apple will refuse to repair them, but the company won’t be officially selling these products on its website anymore.

This time around, we’re about to say goodbye to eight products. All of them were Apple’s best at one point, but alas, it’s finally time for them to step aside and let Apple’s new best products take the driver’s seat.

Say Goodbye to These Apple Products

As of right now, these products have been officially discontinued. This means that you can no longer purchase them directly from Apple, but you should still be able to obtain them from other authorized retailers and carriers, and you may even be able to get some deals as they seek to clear them out.

These are the Apple products saying goodbye in September 2025:

  1. iPhone 15
  2. iPhone 15 Plus
  3. iPhone 16 Pro
  4. iPhone 16 Pro Max
  5. Apple Watch Series 10
  6. Apple Watch Ultra 2
  7. Apple Watch SE 2
  8. AirPods Pro 2

What Will Happen to These Products Now?

AS we mentioned, you should still be able to find these products with other retailers. Not only that, but you’ll probably find them at a discount, which is a better bang for your buck if you don’t mind having a previous generation product.

These products will continue to support software and firmware updates for the next few years. Likewise, Apple will continue to offer technical support for any of these devices.

After some time, these products will go from “discontinued” to “vintage,” which is a status Apple gives to the products the company has stopped selling for more than five years and less than seven years. Vintage products will continue to receive hardware services from Apple. Additionally, third-party service providers can still order parts from these products for the time being.

Once those seven years are up, these products will transition from “vintage” to “obsolete,” which essentially means they’ll become obsolete, much like the dodo bird. When a product is obsolete, Apple will stop providing any services or support, and third-party service providers won’t be able to order spare parts anymore.

Gone But Not Forgotten

As sad as this news may be, all tech devices eventually get discontinued. On the bright side, if you’re in the market for a new iPhone, Apple Watch, or AirPods Pro, you can definitely find these products in third-party stores. Not only that, but retailers will likely drop the price to entice people to continue buying these products, and carriers typically offer some great deals on last year’s iPhone models, often practically giving them away if you’re willing to sign up for a contract.

The good news is that all of these products should receive both updates and tech support from Apple for at least a few more years — Apple is still releasing iOS 15 security updates for the iPhone 6s, which was discontinued seven years ago. So, if you have an older iPhone or you’re thinking of getting one, you won’t have any issues on that front.
