Soylent, a space-age meal replacement so spartan that soldiers and astronauts would likely eschew it, first burst onto the alimentary tech scene two years ago with the bold promise of liberating humans from the need to overthink, cook, or for that matter, enjoy their food.

Now the company has come out with Coffiest, its breakfast replacement for jetsetting Silicon Valley execs who fancy themselves too busy to scarf down a McMuffin, survivalists preparing for a flavorless apocalypse, and would-be biohackers.

Coffiest is essentially a bottle of Soylent 2.0, which is its original powdered drink mix, plus coffee. The beverage features the startup company’s complete nutrition package, along with 150mg of caffeine (the equivalent of two 8 oz. cups of coffee) and L-theanine (a nootropic amino acid extracted from tea). Together, the caffeine and L-theanine are supposed to provide energy as well as a cognitive boost to ease you into your day, New Atlas reports.

Coffiest has been flavored with coffee with a dash of chocolate for good measure, but its real promise is that it functions as a standalone nutritious breakfast replacement. One bottle provides 400 kilocalories of energy and one-fifth of the daily value of essential vitamins and minerals, according to Ars Technica.

As for the taste? “Surprising almost good”, according to Eater, which compares it to runny pancake batter cut with coffee grounds and chocolate bits. This of course is far from a shimmering endorsement, but flavor was probably never the point.

Coffiest is available for around $37 for Soylent subscribers.
