A growing number of iPhone owners are reportedly experiencing a disturbing error that locks their phones in a boot loop. Known as Error 14, the glitch is causing people to lose important documents and precious photos and videos.

But what is Error 14, and how can you avoid it? Read on to find out.

What Is Error 14?

Error 14 often occurs when a person restores or updates their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Regardless of whether the update was installed automatically or manually, the outcome is still the same. The iPhone gets stuck in a boot loop, refusing to move beyond the Apple logo.

Error 14 may be triggered when the phone’s storage is full, either from too many photos, messages, or other types of data.

When the storage space is too low, there is no room to install the update, and it fails. This failure then causes the phone to get stuck at the startup screen.

Avoiding Error 14

The best way to avoid this issue is to remove unnecessary photos, videos, apps, and extra messages before installing an update.

If you don’t want to remove pictures and files, you can ensure you don’t lose valuable data by making a backup. If you have a backup of all your phone’s data, you can restore this information without losing anything.

How to Fix Error 14?

The only fix for the Error 14 glitch is to reset your iPhone and restore it to its factory settings. If the user has a backup, the iPhone owner can retrieve their data without a loss. Unfortunately, most people do not back up their phones on a regular basis. Consequently, they lose their precious photos and other critical documents that were stored only on their phones.
