Google has updated its Maps for iOS 10 app with a host of new features and improvements, the company announced. Among the changes included in the new version (4.23.0) are widgets designed to work with Apple’s new operating system, and a feature that lists details about places that users visit.

The descriptions of locations that users can visit will be fairly in-depth too. While Google has always strived to provide information about places in Maps, the new version will include details about a location’s “features, amenities, crowd, highlights, atmosphere and more,” according to Google’s blog.

In addition to the added details, the new update adds the ability to upload photos alongside any location reviews written for Google Maps. While users could upload photos before, the ability to add them at the same time could mean that there will be more photos for you to browse through when researching a location. Other review platforms have this feature — and it’s a useful way to get a better feel for a location before you even step foot in it.

The most notable addition to Maps is the addition of new and improved widgets for iOS 10 users. The widgets, which can be added to and accessed in iOS 10’s widget pane, will include nearby transit and travel times. The first of the two shows the public transit options near you, while the latter will tell you estimated commute time from your current location to your work and home location.

Along with these improvements, the new version of Maps has some routine improvements such as bug fixes and additional iOS 10 optimization. Google Maps is available as a free download on the Apple App Store, and it currently supports iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Apple Watch.
