While many people received their stimulus check this week, not everyone has been so fortunate. Even if they received the first check without issue, some tax filers are still waiting on their stimulus check to hit their bank account.

The problem seems to affect those who filed their taxes using TurboTax, H&R Block, and similar tax preparation services or software, according to the IRS and reported by CNBC’s Make It.

Customers using the IRS Get My Payment tool discovered this glitch when they checked their status.

Instead of a deposit date, people received a “Payment Status #2 – Not Available” message.

The IRS said people affected by this error, most of whom use H&R Block and TurboTax software, can receive a credit on their 2020 taxes instead of a stimulus payment.

“The IRS advises people that if they don’t receive their Economic Impact Payment, they should file their 2020 tax return electronically and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their tax return to get their payment and any refund as quickly as possible,” said the IRS.

Not only did some people not receive their stimulus funds, but other people report that their money has been deposited into the wrong bank account.

According to a follow-up article by Make It, the IRS accidentally deposited the funds into temporary accounts that customers could no longer access.

The IRS blamed the error on the speed at which it had to roll out the stimulus checks.

Affected customers are urged to check their bank accounts and not rely on the Get My Payment tool, which may take a few days to update.
