According to Tim Cook, the Apple CEO owns cryptocurrency and is interested in the space – and we’re not shocked Apple is interested in crypto as the value of the industry continues to soar.

Crypto is the future of currency according to Cook. He says Apple, in the future, will want to explore or revolutionize the space even further. This would be interesting to see as Apple continues to shake up mobile payments with Apple Pay. The question now is what product will Apple implement? Apple Coin?

From what Tim was saying, it sounds to me more as if Apple will add features to Apple Pay to support Bitcoin. I’m not saying it’s not possible for Apple to invest heavily into the space in the future, and usually, when Apple invests, it leads to their own product in that particular market.

So, there is a possibility ‘Apple Coin’ could become a reality, but when Tim says that Apple wants to explore the crypto-based space further, I think adding crypto-based rewards to Apple Pay is what he’s referring to.

A Bitcoin was recently valued at around $68,000 – and in total, cryptocurrency is more valuable than all U.S. currency in circulation. Do you think Apple should get into crypto or is the company wasting its time?
