When you first saw the 12.9-inch iPad Pro at last September’s “Hey Siri” event, you were likely as impressed as the rest of us. Incredibly thin and lightweight, the iPad Pro features a remarkable display and superior performance to most laptops on the market. For many people, however, the cost was a bit prohibitive – many users got a bit of sticker shock when Apple revealed that the entry level model would run them $799.

The good news is, Apple just made the 12.9-inch iPad Pro a bit more affordable. Yesterday afternoon, Apple added the device to its official refurbished online store.

Apple’s official refurbished online store offers previously-used Apple products that have been tested and certified by the company. All of Apple’s certified refurbished products carry a one year warranty and have been fitted with a brand-new battery. All certified refurbished items are also available with free shipping and free returns, as well. The refurbished store is a great opportunity for customers to snag like-new Apple products at some pretty serious discounts. Refurbished MacBooks, iMacs, Mac Accessories, iPod Touches, and a variety of iPads, now including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, are all available at the refurbished online store. Some devices are available for up to 15% off the original price, putting several entry-level iPad Pro models at $679 – a $120 savings.

Unfortunately, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, which was released earlier this year, isn’t available on the online store quite yet. There does seem to be quite a few of the 12.9-inch models available, though. It’s important to remember, however, that the stock on Apple’s refurbished products is constantly changing – if you see a product that you’d like it’s a better idea to grab it quickly before it becomes unavailable.

As previously mentioned, certified refurbished iPad Pro models are starting at a price of $679, which gets you a 32GB, Wi-Fi only model. 128GB Wi-Fi only iPad Pros are currently running $809, $140 off the original price, while 128GB Wi-Fi and cellular-enabled models are available for $919, a $160 discount from the full price. Some models are periodically available at third-party for lower prices than these refurbished models, but Apple’s online store is always reliable, and the stock is always up to date. If you’re in the market for an iPad Pro, you may shop around a bit first – if you don’t find any amazing deals around the web, you can always go for a certified refurbished model.

Do you think Apple’s newly discounted price is a good deal?
