Apple Drops MLS Season Pass Price to as Low as $25 for the Playoff Push

Apple has once again reduced the price of its MLS Season Pass for the remainder of the season, but it’s sadly not offering quite as deep a discount this year.
MLS Season Pass is Apple’s sole sports subscription service (for now, at least), offering access to every single live MLS regular-season match, the entire MLS Cup Playoffs, and the Leagues Cup, all without any local blackout restrictions, plus a wealth of on-demand content, including full match replays, highlights, and original programming.
Although it streams in Apple’s TV app, MLS Season Pass is a separate package from Apple TV+. However, subscribers to that service can receive a discount on the sports streaming subscription. The full MLS Season Pass costs $99 for the full season, or $79 for Apple TV+ subscribers. Fans can also sign up monthly for $14.99 without an Apple TV+ subscription, or $12.99 with one.
The monthly plans theoretically allow more casual fans to join later in the season, when the more significant Leagues Cup and MLS Cup Playoffs are happening. However, Apple also regularly discounts the complete package as the season progresses, typically making it a better value. For instance, for the third year in a row since launching the service, Apple dropped the 2025 MLS Season Pass to $49 at the beginning of July to reflect that only half the season remained. The $20 Apple TV+ discount on the whole season was similarly cut in half, meaning that subscribers to Apple’s other streaming service only paid $39.
Last year, it followed that up with a significant price drop in September, and while it’s doing something similar this year, it’s not nearly as tantalizing an offer.
In September 2024, Apple reduced the remaining MLS Season Pass subscription to $9.99 for those without an Apple TV+ subscription, while continuing to offer Apple TV+ subscribers a similar discount, making the rest of the 2024 MLS Season Pass free for them.
Sadly, Apple isn’t being quite as generous this year. Today’s price cut drops the 2025 MLS Season Pass to $29, while Apple TV+ subscribers will still pay $25.
Taken on a pro-rated basis, the new price isn’t unreasonable. After all, there are still nearly seven weeks left of regular-season play before Decision Day on October 18, and for many fans, it’s the most exciting part of the season. The stakes ramp up even more after that with the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs, which begin with a series of wild-card matches on October 22 and continue through November, culminating in the MLS Cup final on December 6.
In addition to access to every game, MLS Season Pass subscribers also receive comprehensive match-day coverage, featuring pre-game and post-game shows that offer in-depth analysis and highlights, as well as the live MLS 360 whip-around show, which provides live look-ins from every match. Matches are also available with commentary in both English and Spanish, as well as French commentary for those involving Canadian teams.
That said, more casual fans don’t need to subscribe to MLS Season Pass to get a taste of what it offers. Apple makes a selection of live matches available for free each week — typically between four and six games per match day — plus some on-demand preview content and limited playoff coverage. Most of these are offered as a way to entice fans to sign up for the full subscription, but there’s plenty here for those who don’t have the time or money to invest in the full MLS Season Pass experience.
Still, if you want to jump in for the most exciting part of the 2025 MLS Season, you can grab the MLS Season Pass for as little as $25 and stay tuned in until the final MLS Cup match in December. Just don’t forget to cancel it after that, as otherwise, it will auto-renew at $99 for the full 2026 MLS Season Pass when it becomes available early next year.
