Default Emoji Skin Tones and mini Memoji
One long overdue feature is default skin tones. Many other messaging platforms let you set a default tone palette for all emoji instances. In iOS, you have to select a skin tone for each individual emoji. Maybe iOS 18 could ask users to select a default skin tone when they first use the emoji keyboard.
Memoji is one of iPhone’s more underdeveloped novelties. It’s fun to set up and use, but it gets old fast. What if they were better integrated into the emoji keyboard in iMessage?
Apple could introduce mini Memoji. These tiny Memoji would work like standard emoji and be sent as inline text when sent using iMessage. For users on other platforms, sending a mini Memoji would simply substitute an equivalent standard emoji.
