Documents have been leaked containing information about the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus camera module. The document reportedly comes from an employee of Foxconn, one of Apple’s largest manufacturing facilities in China.
The document solidifies rumors that we have speculated about in the past. Rumors around the web have stated for sometime that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would be receiving a new 12 megapixel camera, upgraded from 8 megapixels on the current generation. Also upgraded will be the video resolution capability, now up to 4K quality.
Selfie addicts will be pleased to hear the front-facing camera will most likely get an upgrade as well. The current iPhone 6 front-facing camera takes decent enough pictures, but like we said before there is always room for improvement. The document states that the new front-facing camera will be upgraded to 5 megapixels, up from 1.2 megapixels. Current competition from Samsung is already offering 5 megapixel front-facing cameras, so the upgrade will be a welcome addition for iPhone lovers.
It has also been predicted that Apple will be putting another microphone near the iPhone 6S’s speakers to improve the sound quality. Some say that the added microphone could help create a better, more accurate, Siri experience.
