14-inch MacBook Pro
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted the company is working on a new 14-inch MacBook Pro model that'll debut in the second or third quarter of 2021. Besides the ARM-based chipset, this model may also feature mini-LED displays.
24-inch iMac
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted that Apple would release a 24-inch iMac. This new iMac will feature an all-new design alongside the new chipset. It likely won't debut until late 2020 or early 2021.
Mac Pro
Apple is supposedly planning to bring its Apple silicon to its Mac Pro line as well. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and Debby Wu, the new Mac Pro will be about half the size of the existing Mac Pro. It's not clear whether Apple will replace the current Mac Pro or if it will add this pint-sized Mac Pro to its existing lineup.
16-inch MacBook Pro
In addition to Kuo's reports, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and Debby Wu also believe that Apple is working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon. The information from Bloomberg did not give a projected release date.
Apple heaped praise onto its M1 chip, claiming the new chipset will deliver up to 3.5x improvement in system performance, up to 6X faster graphics performance and a 15x boost in machine learning. It also will sip power allowing the battery to last 2x longer than previous generation Mac models.
Apple is now selling its new 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini. Customers can order now with an expected delivery date of November 17th. In-store retail sales also are expected to begin on that date.
These new models cost about the same as the previous Intel-powered models. Pricing starts at $699 for the new Mac mini, $999 for the MacBook Air, and $1,299 for the MacBook Pro.
