16-inch MacBook Pro
In addition to Kuo’s reports, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu also believe that Apple is working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon. The information from Bloomberg did not give a projected release date.
Apple heaped praise onto its M1 chip, claiming the new chipset will deliver up to 3.5x improvement in system performance, up to 6X faster graphics performance and a 15x boost in machine learning. It also will sip power allowing the battery to last 2x longer than previous generation Mac models.
Apple is now selling its new 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini. Customers can order now with an expected delivery date of November 17th. In-store retail sales also are expected to begin on that date.
These new models cost about the same as the previous Intel-powered models. Pricing starts at $699 for the new Mac mini, $999 for the MacBook Air, and $1,299 for the MacBook Pro.
