Apple’s September event is officially a wrap, and it brought a ton of new updates to all the devices we already know and love.

Just as we were expecting, Apple had an Apple Watch announcement waiting for us. However, the company announced not one, not even two, but three new Apple Watch models.

That’s right, Apple updated the entire Apple Watch family, and now they’re all better, more powerful, and some of them even come with a couple of new health features. Let’s break it down.

Apple Introduced the New Apple Watch Series 11

It was a given that Apple would announce the new Apple Watch Series 11, and it didn’t disappoint. This new model is more powerful and durable than ever, and it also features some new health benefits that we were hoping for but didn’t expect.

Starting with the design, the new Ion-X glass that covers the Apple Watch’s display is stronger than ever. Apple claims that it’s now up to two times more scratch-resistant, which is great for a device that most of us tend to bump against stuff almost daily.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any design changes on the Apple Watch, so users with a Series 10 won’t notice a difference.

With that said, the biggest differences come on the inside of the Apple Watch Series 11. For starters, connectivity: Apple finally introduced 5G on the Apple Watch, which will give it a better, more secure connection while still using less battery life.

Speaking of battery life, Apple claims that the new Apple Watch now features up to 24 hours of battery life with a single charge, which is great if you want to use it while you sleep, a feature you’ll probably want to utilize due to the new Sleep Score feature.

As you can guess by its name, Sleep Score will track your sleep quality throughout the night. This will provide you with more insights into your sleep quality, the time you spend awake, and other aspects. In the morning, you’ll receive a sleep score, along with recommendations to help you improve your sleep quality.

However, the biggest health upgrade comes in the long-awaited blood pressure sensor. This will actively scan your blood pressure and alert you if it detects unusually high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

The new Apple Watch will use the data from the Apple Watch’s optical heart sensor and analyze how your blood vessels respond to the beats of your heart. If it detects an anomaly, it will notify you that you might have high blood pressure or hypertension.

Apple confirmed that this feature will not detect all forms of high blood pressure, but it is expected to help over one million users detect undiagnosed high blood pressure.

The new Apple Watch Series 11 is now available for preorder, starting at $399, and will begin shipping on September 19.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 Also Made an Entrance

Alongside the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple also revealed the brand new Apple Watch Ultra. This new and more powerful watch continues to sport the same design as the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which had already borrowed the design of the Apple Watch Ultra 1. Still, it’s a cool design that will definitely make the pricier watch stand out.

As you can expect, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes with all the new features the Apple Watch Series 11 has. So you can use it to get a sleep score and notifications in case you suffer from hypertension.

Additionally, however, Apple made some improvements to the Apple Watch Ultra’s display. Now, the borders on the watch are thinner, providing a larger display on the same body. Additionally, the company also improved the brightness on the Apple Watch Ultra, making it even easier to use when you’re outside.

As a contrast, the Apple Watch Ultra also improved its display when it’s off. The new Always-On display has a 1 Hz refresh rate, which lets you see the watch move in real time without compromising battery life.

As it was speculated, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 also gets better connectivity with Apple’s satellite service. This will enable you to send messages to your friends or loved ones, share your location, or request help with an SOS signal.

All of these new features won’t affect the Apple Watch Ultra’s battery life, which is now better than ever. According to Apple, the new high-end Apple Watch can last up to 42 hours with a single charge, which is ludicrous.

The Apple Watch starts at $799, and it can be ordered starting today. Apple will begin shipping as soon as September 19.

Don’t Forget About the Apple Watch SE 3

Apple also updated its budget-friendly Apple Watch, and it made it an incredible bang for your buck. The new Apple Watch SE now features a more powerful chip, improved battery life and charging, and a couple of additional features that were previously exclusive to the more expensive models.

For starters, the Apple Watch SE 3 now packs the more powerful S10 chip, which is the most powerful chip on an Apple Watch. This new and more powerful chip enables the Apple Watch SE 3 to support additional features, such as Double Tap and Wrist Flick, two features introduced by Apple over the last two years. These features allow you to control your Apple Watch with one hand.

The Apple Watch SE also gets an always-on display for the first time — a feature that’s been standard on the rest of the family since 2019.

Unfortunately, the Apple Watch SE still doesn’t come with all the extra health features the Series 11 or Ultra 3 have, but this new model does come with wrist temperature sensing, which will provide more data when using the Vitals app or when tracking your menstrual cycle.

Another change comes in the form of a new speaker, which allows you to play music from your Apple Watch without the need for a pair of AirPods, and features 5G connectivity like the Series 11.

Luckily, Apple also improved the battery life on the Apple Watch SE 3. This new model is said to last up to 18 hours with a single charge. Not only that, but it now also supports fast charging. This means that it will charge twice as fast as the previous model, and it will give you up to 8 hours of use with a quick 15-minute charge.

Just like the other two Apple Watch models, you can order the Apple Watch SE 3 starting today for $249, and it will begin shipping on September 19.

Which Apple Watch Are You Getting?

Apple surprised us with three different models to choose from this time around. While the design on all Apple Watch models remains the same, the new health features and extra battery life make these new models a pretty good deal.

Whether you have money to spare, are on a tight budget, or are somewhere in between, there’s now an up-to-date Apple Watch for you to choose from.
