Play-Doh, Worms, Mightycat, and Shogi: Here’s What’s Coming to Apple Arcade in August

Apple’s subscription gaming service continues to be on a roll. Just last week, Apple dropped its fun new July titles, and now it’s announced even more fun to come in August.
July’s releases saw the return of the Angry Birds in a fun new brick-breaker, Angry Birds Bounce, plus a new Kingdom Rush instalment for tower-defence fans and a whimsical fruit-mixer, Suika Game+, which challenges you to build the ultimate fruit: a watermelon.
On August 7, Apple will be adding four more exclusive titles to its collection, and while you won’t find AAA console games on Apple Arcade, there’s still fun for the whole family to enjoy. Here’s what’s coming.
Play-Doh World
Play-Doh World lets your imagination take the wheel as you design your own zany characters — from fantastical zoo critters to glam salon makeovers — and watch as they spring to life in a kaleidoscopic playground. You can bounce through dozens of interactive zones, hunt down collectible special?edition Play?Doh, and dive into fresh updates that keep the fun rolling.
This one is aimed at letting kids explore their creativity and invent on their terms in a safe, ad-free environment.
Worms Across Worlds
Team17 and Behaviour Interactive have brought the Worms back, and this time, they’re bending reality itself. Worms Across Worlds flings the iconic squirmy soldiers into five bizarre dimensions after one of Professor Worminkle’s wild experiments goes totally off the rails.
The game offers classic strategic turn-based chaos across a multiverse, as you chase the rogue scientist through exploding volcanoes, haunted castles, and wherever else he ends up next. Jump into solo missions or rally up to four teams for all-out multiplayer madness. One thing’s for sure: wherever these Worms go, destruction is never far behind.
Let’s Go Mightycat!
What happens when your average housecat gets cosmic powers? This wild spinoff of The Battle Cats answers that question in a game that’s equal parts cute and chaotic. A mild-mannered furry feline gets an epic glow-up from a mysterious cosmic force and sets out to conquer the galaxy in style.
Let’s Go Mightycat lets you deck out your heroic feline with flashy capes, rescue quirky space pals, and tap your way through colorful puzzle-filled planets as you work to bring the entire galaxy under the fluffy (but formidable) rule of the Cat Empire. It’s a fresh take on the beloved Battle Cats series, with all the charm, chaos, and cat-powered ambition the franchise is known for.
Everybody Shogi
If you’re not familiar with shogi, it’s essentially chess with a Japanese twist — and a whole lot more color. Everybody Shogi gives the classic strategy game a modern refresh, with bright visuals, smooth touch controls, and clever puzzle-style stages that make it easy for everyone to dive in, whether you’re an experienced shogi player or a complete newcomer to the game.
You’ll be able to tackle daily challenges, unlock cool piece designs, and even build your own custom deck, all while thinking a few moves ahead. There’s also real-time multiplayer and multi-device crossplay, making it a welcoming, fast-paced spin on shogi that lives up to its name: it really is for everybody.
Apple Arcade offers unlimited access to 200+ games for up to six family members, all for $6.99/month as a standalone subscription, or as part of an Apple One bundle that includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, and iCloud+ storage, starting at $19.95/month. Arcade Originals can be played across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, while App Store Greats are available on iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro.
