Cozy Up — Apple TV’s 2025 Holiday Slate Just Dropped

Apple has just announced its 2025 holiday lineup for Apple TV, and it’s once again filled with everything from new originals to beloved classics.
Apple TV isn’t going all-in on a musical gala this year, but fans can still revisit its previous holiday specials — from Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special (2020) and The Magic Continues (2021) to 2023’s Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, which features the Ted Lasso co-star “ringing in the season with musical performances of beloved Christmas classics.”
This year, Apple is going for a quiet holiday seasonal lineup with The First Snow of Fraggle Rock, a new Apple Original that serves as a reminder that Peanuts isn’t the only classic franchise that Apple has become a custodian of.
While it’s not quite as high-profile as Snoopy and the gang, Apple also signed a deal with the Jim Henson Company to reboot Fraggle Rock in 2020. Much like Peanuts would later that same year, this gave Apple the rights to the entire 96-episode back catalog of Fraggle Rock that aired from 1983 to 1987, which it promptly brought to Apple TV, alongside a new series, Fraggle Rock: Rock On.
Now, it appears that someone at Apple TV has decided that it’s time to give the Fraggles their own holiday special, which finds them thrown off course when only a single snowflake falls — and Gobo comes down with a case of writer’s block.
The special also features internet sensation Lele Pons in a cameo role including a musical performance of “Our Melody” alongside Gobo. A journey to Outer Space leads to unexpected musical inspiration, while back at the Gorgs’ castle, Junior is overwhelmed by the surprise arrival of a baby sister.

The First Snow of Fraggle Rock will premiere on Friday, December 5. You’ll still be able to watch the classic 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas on Apple TV, which is available year-round for subscribers, along with For Auld Lang Syne — the first Peanuts holiday special produced under the Apple TV banner in 2021.
As usual, Apple is also offering A Charlie Brown Christmas to non-subscribers on December 13 and 14, plus A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on November 15 and 16.
Feature Film Debuts
Apple TV will also debut a sequel to The Family Plan, its 2023 action-comedy flick starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan. It’s hardly a Hallmark-style Christmas movie, but The Family Plan 2 lands in the same “non-traditional holiday movie” zone as Die Hard and Home Alone.
In “The Family Plan 2,” it’s the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) has planned the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas — until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat-and-mouse ensues as Dan and his family battle, bicker and bond their way through a series of bank heists, holiday hijinks and car chases amid scenic European terrain.

The Family Plan 2 will premiere on November 21, just in time for turkey and tree-trimming parties.
Apple also isn’t wasting the opportunity to remind us of its previously announced premiere date for F1: The Movie on December 12, but we think even die-hard racing fans will have a hard time putting that one in the holiday category.
Of course, Apple’s holiday slate isn’t just about new premieres — its back catalog has also quietly grown into a festive collection.
The Apple TV Holiday Collection
This will be the seventh holiday season we’ve celebrated with Apple TV, which means the streaming service has had ample time to build a substantial list of holiday content — and all of it is still available for streaming.
That means you’ll be able to enjoy both of Mariah Carey’s Christmas extravaganzas, the distinctive 2023 Hannah Waddingham special, and a collection of movies, including Spirited, the Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds-led film that’s one of the most entertaining and whimsical takes on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol that we’ve ever seen. There’s even a really fun sing-along version for a Christmas Karaoke Night.
Apple’s lineup also includes the BAFTA Award-winning The Velveteen Rabbit — a mixed live-action and animated take on the timeless classic by Margery Williams — plus the Academy Award-winning short The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse and the festive Carpool Karaoke episode A Carpool Karaoke Christmas.
Apple TV leads the pack when it comes to kids’ entertainment, and the holidays are no exception. Alongside The First Snow of Fraggle Rock, you’ll find another seasonal adventure from the same world, Fraggle Rock: Night of the Lights, which revisits the beloved characters for a cheerful return to their underground celebrations.
Beyond the Fraggles, there’s a full slate of family favorites to keep little ones entertained. Highlights include Frog and Toad: Christmas Eve; Sago Mini Friends: New Year’s Steve; Eva the Owlet: Eva’s Moon Wish; Shape Island: The Winter Blues; Interrupting Chicken: A Chicken Carol Holiday Special; and Pretzel and the Puppies: Merry Muttgomery!. You’ll also find plenty of Peanuts cheer, from I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown to The Snoopy Show: Happiness Is the Gift of Giving.
Whether you’re into sing-alongs, holiday heists, or classic animation, Apple TV’s growing library has more than enough to let you settle in and stream your way through the season.
