If you’ve been on Netflix — or the internet — recently, you’ve probably caught wind of “Stranger Things.”

The critically-acclaimed Netflix-produced show features a poster that was initially designed and sketched entirely on an iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil — perhaps quieting some critics who say Apple’s tablet isn’t actually any good for creating professional art.

In a recent interview with Mashable, UK-based artist, Kyle Lambert, explained the process of creating the poster using his iPad Pro.

“This was a very exciting project for me, as an artist that trained with oil paints, I really enjoyed the challenge of reproducing this traditional painting style using digital tools,” Lambert told Mashable.

Lambert said he used the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to do preliminary compositions — and even the sketch that eventually became the final version of the poster.

“I chose to use the iPad Pro for the drawing stage of the poster because I find that I am able to sketch in a very natural way on the device using the Apple Pencil,” he said, adding that the device’s portability was also a helpful feature.

He specifically used the iOS app Procreate to draw the poster, and said that the app “has some really great Pencil brushes for drawing with.”

Of course, Lambert had to go back and forth between the iPad Pro and a desktop-version of Photoshop to add finer details and refine the painting, according to BGR.

On a complicated piece of art that has hundreds of layers, it’s still necessary to use an industry-standard-grade application such as Photoshop to completely pull it off, Lambert told Mashable.

Still, the fact that a professional artist used an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create what would eventually become a recognizable piece of artwork is further proof that the tablet is extremely capable in the right hands.

Besides the poster, Lambert was also commissioned to create character portraits as gifts for the actors of the series.
