The only thing better than french fries are free french fries. And this month, Apple is teaming up with McDonald’s to offer just that.

As part of a broader campaign aimed at promoting Apple Pay for road trips, Apple and McDonald’s are offering a special promotion every Friday in July that can net you a free order of fries. Read on for the exact details.

How to Get Free Fries at McDonald’s

Apple and McDonald’s will be offering the promotion every Friday this month including July 12, July 19 and July 26.

The offer is available exclusively through the McDonald’s mobile app for iOS, which means you’ll need an account to get the deal.

Similarly, you can only get your free fries if you use Apple Pay during checkout. And unfortunately, you can’t just add an item from the $1, $2 or $3 menu to get your free fries. You’ll actually need to order something else off of the regular menu.

Here’s how you can actually get a free order of fries today and every Friday this month.

  1. Download the McDonald’s app from the App Store.
  2. Log in or register with a new account.
  3. Tap on Order and then Deals.
  4. Tap the Free Medium Fries deal in the next pane.
  5. Tap Add to Mobile Order.
  6. Go back and add something else to your mobile order.
  7. Head to your order and choose Apple Pay during checkout.
  8. Finally, place the order.

After that, all you have to do is go pick up your order (and enjoy your free fries).

McDonald’s notes that the offer is not “valid with any other offer, discount, coupon, or combo meal” and that only one offer is valid per person per visit. (Presumably, that means you won’t be able to add an extra order of fries to a combo.)

Lastly, the offer is only available if you use mobile ordering — basically, placing an order through the app and then picking it up. It’s also only available if your local Mickey D’s participates in the promotion and supports mobile orders.
