Support for Apple Pay is rapidly growing. While the list of banks and retailers is constantly growing, Apple has just recently signed with its first professional NBA franchise: the Orlando Magic.

This Friday, December 19, The Amway Center will officially launch Apple Pay support during the Orlando Magic’s game vs. the Utah Jazz. Basketball fans will be able to use their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices to pay at concessions and to buy merchandise at fan shops.

While the Orlando Magic is the first NBA franchise to support Apple Pay, Major League Baseball was the first sport to introduce venues that supported the Apple Pay feature. This past October, MLB and MasterCard introduced Apple Pay support at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium and the San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park as the two teams battled it out for the World Series title – Apple Pay’s first introduction into the professional sports hemisphere.

This news is obviously exciting for sports fans, and the growing acceptance of Apple Pay by banks, retailers, and now entertainment venues is exciting for iPhone owners everywhere. Users can expect to see more companies jump on board in the coming months.
