Apple kicked off March with “She Creates,” a month-long event to observe International Women’s Day. Celebrated annually on March 8, International Women’s Day honors the achievement of women in social, economic, cultural, and political activities.

Over the month, Apple will host over 5,000 Today At Apple sessions in select retail stores worldwide. These sessions are inspired by female creators in the world of photography, music, business, technology, and more.

People can sign up for an in-store music lab called “Remix Alicia Keys.” In this lab, participants use GarageBand on an iPhone or iPad to remix their version of Keys’ new song “Underdog.” There is also an art lab called “Playful Portraits” that helps participants transform a photo into an animated work of art using Procreate on the iPad.

Apple’s International Women’s Day activities are not limited to its retail stores. Apple also is bringing this celebration to its App Store. Throughout the month, Apple will be highlighting apps developed by female designers, developers, and entrepreneurs both in its App of the Day and Game of the Day promotions.

Women also will be featured on the Apple TV, in the bookstore, and the Podcasts app. Apple TV owners can visit a curated International Women’s Day collection that highlights female-empowered content, while book lovers can browse a women-recommended reading list. There also will be a “Changing the Narrative” podcast series that highlights women podcasters.

Last but not least, Apple Watch owners can participate in a global challenge on March 8. Watch users can earn a special International Women’s Day activity award and stickers for Messages when they complete a 20-minute run, walk, or wheelchair workout.
