Apple Card Perks: What’s New?

Apple has long partnered with merchants to offer customers three percent Daily Cash back for using the Apple Card with those vendors. T-Mobile has been a long-time participant in the program, having partnered with Apple since 2019. However, as reported by Mactrast, that particular perk is coming to an end in July, when Daily Cash for T-Mobile purchases will revert to the standard two percent rebate that Apple Card users receive when paying via Apple Pay at any online or retail store.
According to Apple’s Daily Cash support document, paying with Apple Card with Apple Pay at T-Mobile will result in only two percent cash back, after July 1, 2025, instead of the previous three percent kickback.
Two percent is the standard cash back amount for all purchases made on an Apple Card through Apple Pay, so T-Mobile customers will only receive the standard two percent when making transactions at T-Mobile, including when paying their monthly cellular service bill.
Apple is still offering three percent cash for Apple Pay purchases from several other merchants, including:
- Ace Hardware
- Booking.com
- ChargePoint
- Duane Read
- Exxon and Mobil gas stations
- Nike
- Uber
- Uber Eats
- Uber One
- Walgreens
Booking.com offers additional benefits, as Apple Card customers can earn two percent in Booking.com Travel Credits when they use Apple Card on eligible stays and car rentals when purchased through this link.
Happily, while the Apple Card gods taketh away, they also giveth. Apple Card holders are now eligible for a free six-month free trial of Uber One. Apple announced the new perk in emails it began sending out on Thursday.
Uber One is a subscription service from the ride sharing service that offers $0 delivery fees for Uber Eats orders, offers as much as ten percent off eligible delivery orders or pickup orders, and six percent Uber One credits to use for Uber rides. Apple says the new Uber One benefit for Apple Card users is worth $9.99 per month, making the free trial a $60 value. Uber has partnered with other credit companies to provide similar offers in the past, but it’s the first time this has been available for the Apple Card.
As is usual with offers like these, the free six-month tril for Uber Eats will auto-renew at $9.99 per month once the trial period ends if the customer does not cancel the membership before then. Users can cancel the membership by going to the “Uber One” section of the Uber app and going to “Manage Membership” and tapping the “End Membership” option. Apple Card users that cancel before the six month trial ends can still benefit from the full six-month trial.
To activate the deals, Apple Card holders will need to use exclusive link Apple included in the Uber Eat promotion email to sign up for an Uber Eats monthly subscription. They must sign up for the subscription using an Apple Card and Apple Pay as the payment method. The Apple Card and Apple Pay being associated with the account is a requirement to successfully receive the free trial.
While the free six-month Uber Eats trial offer is available to new or returning Uber One subscribers, it is not available for existing subscribers.
It should also be noted that the Uber One trial is in addition to the usual three percent Daily Cash back that Apple Card users get when making Uber and Uber Eats purchases with the Apple Card via Apple Pay.
