While we’re sure many folks would rather be out barbecuing this weekend, Apple has released four new games on Apple Arcade for those who are looking to kill some time, whether you’re stuck inside or you’re chilling with your iPhone by the pool.

As announced last month, Apple Arcade has debuted a fun collection of games to keep us all occupied, including a new interpretation of a much-loved classic in Angry Birds Bounce, which expands the legendary bird-flinging game into an arcade-style brick-breaker.

Apple Arcade Angry Birds Bounce

When the pigs kick the birds from their islands, Red and his pals must fight to get ’em back. Players will collect their favorite Angry Birds, combine them into powerful flocks, and launch them bouncing to defeat an army of piggies, adding a fresh spin to the beloved gameplay. The game’s rogue-lite elements ensure each level is a new challenge, offering an exciting new power-up after each level! Combine your birds carefully as strategic planning and skillful execution results in astonishing and powerful combos!

What’s more, it’s a cross-platform title, like most of what you’ll find on Apple Arcade. That means you’ll be able to enjoy this one not just on your iPhone and iPad, but also on a Mac or Apple TV, offering fun for the whole family.

For fans of the tower defence genre, Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD+ promises “greater power and menace than ever before” with 15 Epic Heroes, 17 unique towers, 32 upgradeable characters, 22 detailed campaign stages, over 40 types of enemies, three different game modes, and over 56 Achievements to shoot for.

While a formidable evil emerges, an unexpected alliance is taking shape! It will take the finest warriors of Linirea and the relentless Dark Army to stop it. Beware! Though they may journey side by side, the ever-changing winds of fate could swiftly alter their course.

As an Apple Arcade title, you get all the DLCs with no in-app purchases or ads to contend with. It’s playable on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, but unfortunately, the Apple TV is excluded from this one.

Suika Game+ slows things down a bit with a more casual puzzler. The original version boasted over 11 million downloads worldwide and won a 2024 Japan Game Award.

Now, the Apple Arcade version lets you play the full game on iPhone or iPad without interruption to combine as many matching fruits as you can and evolve them into larger ones as you aim for a giant watermelon — the ultimate fruit — without overflowing the box with less epic fruits. The only question is what happens when two watermelons collide?

If you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained this Independence Day weekend, there’s Crayola Scribble Scrubbie Pets+, an adorable game that challenges youngsters to customize, color, style, and wash over 95 pets in an empathetic and nurturing manner.

Explore a world of creativity and play with a variety of hands-on activities—give your pets a colorful makeover in 3D Coloring, give them a wash at the Pet Washing Station, help your pets feel their best at the Pet Vet, and so much more!

This one is strictly an iPhone/iPad game, but folks with an Apple Pencil can use it to manipulate the digital Crayola art tools for an even more creative experience.

An Apple Arcade subscription can be purchased as a standalone subscription for $6.99 per month or for significantly less as part of an Apple One bundle that also includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, and iCloud storage. It allows a family of up to six to access more than 200 games, with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no distractions to detract from the pure gaming experience. Nearly all games are available on the iPhone and iPad, and many also extend to the Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.
