Siri is one of the best voice assistants you can ask for. Apple has improved it so much over the years, making some people hugely reliant on it. It’s hard to imagine iPhones without Siri.

However, the great thing about Siri is that it isn’t exclusive to your iPhone. You can use it on Mac, iPad, and even your Apple Watch.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of things Siri can do on your Apple Watch, from sending messages to checking your daily updates. To be frank, you’re not making the most out of your Apple Watch until you start using Siri commands on it.

How to Turn on ‘Hey Siri’ on Apple Watch

When you first turned on your Apple Watch, Apple asked you if you wanted to use Siri. In case you said no, here’s how you can turn it back on again.

  1. On your Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown.
  2. Open the Settings app.
  3. Scroll down and tap Siri.
  4. Enable how you want to Ask Siri. You can use Hey Siri, Raise to Speak, or long-press the Digital Crown.

You can also change some Siri settings here, like the voice Siri uses or the language. Once you are able to use Siri on your Apple Watch, try these 11 commands:

11. Ask Siri to Open Apps on Your Apple Watch

Siri can help you open pretty much any app you want on your Apple Watch. Instead of searching for it on the app Home Screen, you can easily ask Siri to open it for you.

Just say something like “Open the Timer app,” and Siri will immediately open it on your Apple Watch. Just make sure you pronounce the app’s name correctly, especially if you have two apps with similar names.

10. Ask Siri to Translate Something for You

If you’re learning a new language or travel a lot, you’ll want to have Siri near you. Siri can instantly translate any word or phrase you want.

Just say something like “how do you say I love you in French,” and Siri will show you how to pronounce it correctly. What’s more, is that if you don’t feel so sure you can pronounce it properly, you can tap the play button on your Apple Watch, and Siri will repeat the word or phrase.

9. Start Workouts With Siri

Do you not know where the Workout app is on your Apple Watch? Well, you don’t really need to know because you can ask Siri to open up the app for you. And, what’s even cooler is that you can ask Siri to start the workout itself.

You can say, “Start a workout,” and Siri will ask you which workout you want to start. You can be even more specific and say something like “Start a 10-minute outdoor run,” and Siri will automatically start the workout for you.

8. Send Messages Without Typing

Apple made sure typing is easier than ever on the Apple Watch Series 7, but there’s an even better way to send messages on your Apple Watch. You can easily ask Siri to send a message, and it’ll write the message and send it for you.

Just say something like “Tell Mom I’m on my way.” After that, Siri will write the message and ask you if that’s what you want to send. All without even looking at your iPhone!

7. Use Siri for Your Math Homework

With Siri, it’s easier than ever to do basic calculations. For example, you can ask to add, subtract, or multiply any numbers, and Siri will give the answers you need.

A simple command like “What’s 32 times 57” will make Siri do the hard work for you.

6. Control Your Music With Siri

Siri is a great tool to find the name of new songs instantly. You can ask Siri something like, “What song is this,” and it will tell you the name of the song and the artists. Not only that but it’ll be automatically stored in your Shazam app too.

Likewise, you can use Siri to play music without ever taking out your iPhone. For example, if you’re using Apple Music, you can ask Siri to “Play rock music, skip this track, play my work playlists,” and many other options to control what you want to hear from your wrist.

5. Use Siri to Search on Google

Believe it or not, Siri also works to search through the web and get the information you need. You can ask Siri things like “What causes rainbows?” or “Who was Napoleon Bonaparte?” and you’ll get a brief explanation of what Siri thinks might answer your questions.

4. Ask Siri to Make Phone Calls

Instead of texting, you can ask Siri to call anyone if you have your hands full. You can say something like “Call my sister,” and Siri will make the phone call right on your Apple Watch. You won’t even need to use your iPhone to talk. Instead, you can answer and hang up calls from your Apple Watch too.

3. Check Emails With Siri

Siri can also help you check your latest emails with a single command. You can ask Siri to “Show me my email” or “Check my email,” and you’ll get a small list of your latest emails on your wrist.

You can also ask for specific emails and people like “Show me the email from Justin” or “Do I have any emails from Robert” and Siri will do the rest.

2. Ask Siri About Your Update

This is a cool Siri command that everyone should try. You can ask Siri about your “update.” Siri will tell you what your reminders are, what’s the weather is like, travel time, and even short news updates. It’s a perfect way to start off the day.

All you need to ask Siri is “What’s my update” and listen to what Siri has to say.

1. Ask Siri What Siri Can Do

No one knows Siri better than Siri. If you want to find out what other cool features and commands Siri has under its sleeve, you can ask Siri itself.

Just say something like, “What kinds of things can I ask you” and Siri will show you a link where you can learn more about it. Yes, you can open the link on your Apple Watch, but you might want to read it on something with a larger display, like your iPhone.
