More Parental Controls (Your Kids Will Hate It)
Apple talked extensively about its new parental controls. And while that doesn’t sound too exciting (especially for folks without kids), it is a big step forward for child safety.
With iOS 27, parents will have have both more control over and more insight into what their kids are up to on their devices — what they watch and who they talk to. After the update, a parent can choose to get an alert on their iPhone whenever their youngster wants to visit a new website. The parent will be able to take a look at the website and decide if it’s appropriate or not. Likewise, if a kid tries to start a messaging chat with someone new, the parents will need to allow it beforehand.
Additionally, iOS 27 will introduce Time Allowances, which let parents choose how much time a kid can use an app during the day. This will allow you to create a schedule for weekdays and weekends, so your kids don’t spend too much time browsing social media or playing games.
While some of these features have already been available in Screen Time for years, iOS 27 promises to streamline everything and make these controls more accessible for parents.
