It’s time again for a look at the iDrop News Apple Crime Log. In this week’s edition: fast-food crimes, a previous FedEx robber gets arrested while another one tries their luck, a Wendy’s attacker returns for her lost AirPod, and another thief proves there’s no limit to how low crooks can go.
Cops Arrest Second Suspect in FedEx iPhone Theft
Police have arrested a second suspect in the theft of $30,000 of Apple products from a FedEx shipment in Miami-Dade County in November 2025, reports CBS Miami.
Yasmany Aguiar-Gonzalez was taken into custody on July 15 and faces cargo theft charges. Police say Aguiar-Gonzalez worked with fellow FedEx employee Michael Turro-Cabrera to steal the Apple merchandise on two dates, November 28 and 29, 2025. Turro-Cabrera was arrested on June 23.
The investigation began after Apple reported a $31,165.48 inventory discrepancy to FedEx. Detectives were then able to use GPS data, cellphone records, and surveillance video to trace the missing products. Cops also tracked communication between the two suspects around the time of the thefts.
“Phone records did show that at the time they met, Aguiar-Gonzalez and the FedEx driver made a phone call,” Medley Police spokesperson Andres Oviedo said.
Police say surveillance video captured a FedEx truck meeting a Dodge pickup truck in an alleyway near Dixie Highway in Pinecrest, where they parked back-to-back and began transferring the stolen goods directly between the vehicles.
Duo Arrested for Theft of $130,000 in iPhones from FedEx
FedEx continues to be a popular target for iPhone thieves, as two men were arrested in Memphis, Tennessee on July 15 on charges of stealing 120 iPhone 17 Pros and 50 Tinymoose smart pens from a FedEx processing facility.
Action News 5 reports that Memphis Police responded to a call from a security specialist at a FedEx processing facility. When cops arrived, they were informed that Kreshun Jones and Marvin Veasy were spotted on camera taking 120 iPhone 17 Pro devices and 50 Tinymoose smart pens.
The total value of the iPhones was $131,880, while the Tinymoose pens added another $1,497, for a grand total of $133,377 in goods. If you’re like me, you’re wondering what the heck is a “Tinymoose” smart pen? Turns out, it’s a low-priced stylus for use with the Apple iPad.
Wendy’s Thief Returns to the Scene of the Crime for Her Lost AirPods
A Delaware woman who was accused of attacking a worker and stealing from the register at a Wendy’s in Dover, Delaware, was arrested when she returned to retrieve an AirPod she’d left behind.
Police arrested Shadaira Harris, 33, of Ellendale for attacking a Wendy’s employee after complaining about her order and being refused a refund. When the employee refused to give Harris her money back, Harris grabbed $15 from the register and then “attacked” a worker standing in her way. She then attacked a second employee, punching them “multiple times in the chest,” before throwing the stolen money out the window. On her way out of the establishment, she “threatened to shoot restaurant employees.”
While cops were on the scene investigating, Harris returned to the scene of the crime, in search of her lost AirPods. Officers immediately arrested her. She was charged with strong-arm burglary, conspiracy, terroristic threats, and related offenses.
Burger King Shooting Over a Stolen Apple Watch
A man was shot outside a Memphis Burger King on July 14, in a dispute that followed an argument over a stolen Apple Watch, reports Fox 13 Memphis.
Police say two men accused a third man of stealing an Apple Watch from them. The ensuing fight resulted in one of the men being shot, and his son being injured. The individual who was shot was reportedly in critical condition.
While the two men accused of the shooting fled, they were later caught. Dale Townes, 25, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and Trevor Young, 30, with being an accomplice in the shooting.
Lowlifes Steal AirPods, Other Items from 17-Year-Old During Cancer Surgery
Our last story comes from the “How Low Can You Go?” file. A 17-year-old cancer patient in San Diego had several items stolen from her — while she was undergoing surgery for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer!
According to Fox 5 San Diego, Sahara Morquecho was in surgery at UC San Diego Health when her purse was stolen. The bag contained her AirPods, a wallet, jewelry, ID, cash, and sentimental photos of her late father.
While recovering, the teen was able to track her AirPods via the Find My app, and the AirPods were discovered at a residence in Lemon Grove.
“We could not find it, we notified hospital staff, and no one really took it serious. They kind of said maybe it got lost in the linens; it’ll turn up. No incident report was filed, and I asked every single day,” said Sahara’s sister Kaleena Morquecho. “Finally Thursday, when Sahara was well enough to check her phone, on the Find My app on iPhone, she was able to see that her AirPods were at a residence in Lemon Grove.”
When deputies visited that address, the resident wasn’t home. However, the landlord was able to provide the person’s name, who turned out to have prior arrests for theft. The suspect worked at the UC San Diego Health hospital.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office has directed the case to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) for investigation.
“You think someone is safe; you think their belongings are safe when they are in a surgery. We are not thinking about, ‘Is someone going to steal from us?’” said Kaleena. “To find out her things got stolen from the house of sick, I think that’s so evil.”
