In addition to its usual fitness challenge, Apple will also be ushering in the new year with more new titles on its ad-free gaming subscription service.
Apple Arcade already offers well over 250 games, all without the hassle of ads or in-app purchases, and it gains a few more each month. While the coming January releases are merely part of that regular refresh cycle, it’s once again offering some fun titles for just about everyone, from a new Sago Mini game for youngsters to the “ultimate skateboarding simulator,” all of which are scheduled to arrive on January 8, 2026.
Cozy Caravan
A new Apple Arcade exclusive, Cozy Caravan by 5 Lives Studio is described as “a single-player journey where the arts of crafting, trading, and exploration come together in a beautifully cozy world.”
As the name suggests, the game has a mercantile element, but it sounds like a more casual and relaxing entry. Players will travel through “picturesque landscapes,” and the caravan will encounter communities and interesting characters to help out as they “spread kindness throughout the land.”
Best of all Cozy Caravan will be available for Apple’s entire device lineup, including not only the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, but also the Apple TV and even the Vision Pro.
Sago Mini Jinja’s Garden
The Sago Mini franchise has been producing popular games for preschoolers since 2013, when it was formed as a subsidiary of Swedish app developer Toca Boca. Since its later acquisition by Canadian children’s entertainment company Spin Master, it’s grown beyond merely a series of fun little games into a dedicated learning platform and even an Apple TV original animated series, Sago Mini Friends.
Its first 2026 release, Sago Mini Jinja’s Garden, maintains the same friendly, educational, and accessible experience for kids ages 3–6, while expanding into a 3D open world gardening adventure. Youngsters will be able to plant gardens, cook up delicious dishes, help friendly neighbours, and explore at their own pace in an environment that’s cozy yet “full of fun and surprises.”
Sago Mini Jinja’s Garden comes to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV on January 8.
True Skate+
At the opposite end of the exclusivity spectrum, Apple often welcomes popular paid App Store games into the fold, adding a “+” to indicate that these are Arcade Editions that have been redesigned to fit the Apple Arcade ethos of no ads or in-app purchases.
Such is the case with True Skate+, “the ultimate skateboarding sim.” True Skate has been on the App Store for years with rave reviews, and the Apple Arcade version brings the same realistic physics experience with the entire collection of skateparks included: Inbound, Schoolyard, Factory, Alley, Mondo Ramp, Double Infinity, Warehouse, the Valley, plus the real-world MACBA, SpoT, Havasu, and the Berrics. You’ll still need to unlock them by completing objectives, but that’s more fun than just buying them via in-app purchases.
True Skate+ is coming January 8 for the iPhone and iPad.
Potion Punch 2+
Potion Punch 2+ is another Arcade-enhanced game that borrows from a popular App Store title of the same name (sans the plus). This “fantasy cooking adventure” follows the typical fast-paced restaurant time-management format with a twist. Instead of serving burgers and sushi, you’ll be following the story of Lyra and Noam, two “alchemist entrepreneurs” who need to mix up potions to save customers from evil monsters and villains.
The game play in the Apple Arcade version is the same as the original, except that it drops the common “freemium” model of most such games, so you won’t need to worry about being tempted to spend real money to buy gems and loot to upgrade your magical cafe.
Potion Punch 2+ will arrive on January 8 for the iPhone and iPad.
About Apple Arcade
Apple’s gaming subscription service may not be the most popular one on the planet, but it’s a great option for those in the Apple ecosystem. While you won’t find too many AAA-quality console games on the service, it still includes some astonishingly premium titles like Fantasian and NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, along with a collection of premium mobile and indie games that range from casual one-handed titles to first-person shooters to licensed RPGs.
Most importantly, for $6.99 per month, you get unlimited access to all of these games for a family of up to six with the guarantee that you’ll never be bugged by ads, in-app purchases or other hidden costs. You can also get it as part of an Apple One bundle, where it can be combined with Apple Music, Apple TV, and iCloud+ storage for as little as $19.95/month.
