Too Good to Be True? 5 iPhone 12 Rumors We Hope Are Real

[Update: Apple's iPhone 12 has officially been released. Check out all of the iPhone 12 rumors that actually became reality below.]
Every day, we're getting closer to the iPhone 12's release. Even if the rumors are true, and we don't see the higher-end iPhone models until November, we basically already know what we're getting in Apple's next-generation iPhones.
There are high expectations for the new iPhone 12 lineup. A lot of us are expecting a new design, better displays, and an even better set of cameras than the ones on the iPhone 11. Fortunately, according to several rumors, Apple won't disappoint its fans this year. Well, most of them, anyway.
Some people are still upset because they won't get a charger or EarPods with their iPhone 12. But that's a story for another day.
There are many rumors going around the internet right now. Some sound great, others sound too good to be true, we just have to wait to see which is which. Still, even if some of them might seem crazy at first, it would be great if they were true.
The best part is that most of the time, there's always some truth behind these rumors. Continue reading to browse our top picks for iPhone 12 rumors we hope are real.
A New Dark Blue Color
A recent rumor gave us new hope that Apple will add a new dark blue color for the iPhone 12 Pro lineup.
However, this might be bittersweet news for some people. Mostly, because famous leaker Max Weinbach agrees with this rumor, but also adds that the dark blue will be a replacement for the already popular Midnight Green color first introduced in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
It's true that Apple has added new colors with many new iPhone generations, with the iPhone 11 having the most colors available in recent times. This makes a new dark blue color seem possible, even if we only see it in the iPhone 12 Pro models, similar to what Apple did with the Midnight Green color.
A Boxier Design
The design on the iPhone 12 will have a major change. According to several leaks, mock-ups, and renders, the new iPhone 12 will have a similar look to that of the current iPad Pro.
The iPhone 12 is said to have a more Pro look, with a boxier design, and some minor changes on the cameras, and the positioning of the power button and SIM tray.
Although, the biggest change might be on the front. Yes, we'll still have a notch, but it'll be the smallest one we've ever seen. You can still see it, but we'll get a wider screen with almost no bezels at all.
More Storage
Do you remember the days when the cheapest iPhone only came with 16 GB of storage? Fortunately, Apple changed this eventually and increased the storage for the base models. And now, it seems that the company is ready to do it again.
The rumors are divided on this one, though. Some people are saying that every new iPhone 12 model will start with a base storage of 128 GB, which is a huge improvement from the 64 GB the iPhone 11 comes with.
Other rumors say that only the high-end iPhone 12 Pro models will start with a storage of 128GB, whereas the regular iPhone 12 models will start with 64 GB of storage.
Hopefully, the first rumor will be the right one. Although, even if it isn't, it's possible that Apple increases the storage for every iPhone in the future, just like it did in the past.
LiDAR Sensor
The LiDAR sensor was first introduced in this year's iPad Pro models. This new sensor is meant to give you an even better augmented reality, or AR, experience.
Apple has plans to use the LiDAR Sensor and augmented reality to help users experience products and shopping in a different way. And there have been rumors that Apple is considering implementing AR in its upcoming AirTags, to make it easier to find your devices.
So it seems like a safe bet to think Apple will add a LiDAR sensor in the iPhone 12. As of right now, the LiDAR sensor doesn't have much use, other than some apps and games you can use it with. However, it does have potential, and it could change the way we interact with different objects and places.
Plus, it seems that Apple has even bigger plans for the LiDAR Sensor and augmented reality. Some rumors say Apple will gather all the data it collects from the iPhone 12's LiDAR Sensor and use it on the rumored Apple Glass, Apple's first Augmented Reality glasses.
Different Sizes to Choose From
Great news for users who like smaller iPhones instead of the bigger models that we've been seeing the last few years; it seems like this year will have different models to fit everyone's needs. Even if it means you'll have to wait longer to get the iPhone you want.
Apple plans to release four different iPhone models. Different sizes, with the same amount of power. Instead of having one regular iPhone and two Pro versions, Apple will release two regular iPhones and two iPhone Pro models.
According to the rumors, the smallest iPhone 12 will have a 5.4-inch display, whereas the bigger iPhone, supposedly called iPhone 12 Max will sport a 6.1-inch display.
Despite being just a bit bigger than the iPhone SE's display, the small iPhone 12 model will give iPhone users who like smaller displays the chance to have a mini iPhone without compromises.
On the other hand, the iPhone 12 Pro models will be huge in comparison. The regular iPhone 12 Pro is rumored to have a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display. This is a major change compared to the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, which had 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch displays respectively.
