LiDAR Sensor
The LiDAR sensor was first introduced in this year’s iPad Pro models. This new sensor is meant to give you an even better augmented reality, or AR, experience.
Apple has plans to use the LiDAR Sensor and augmented reality to help users experience products and shopping in a different way. And there have been rumors that Apple is considering implementing AR in its upcoming AirTags, to make it easier to find your devices.
So it seems like a safe bet to think Apple will add a LiDAR sensor in the iPhone 12. As of right now, the LiDAR sensor doesn’t have much use, other than some apps and games you can use it with. However, it does have potential, and it could change the way we interact with different objects and places.
Plus, it seems that Apple has even bigger plans for the LiDAR Sensor and augmented reality. Some rumors say Apple will gather all the data it collects from the iPhone 12’s LiDAR Sensor and use it on the rumored Apple Glass, Apple’s first Augmented Reality glasses.
