5 Products We Hope Are Still Coming in 2025

Apple's September event is official over, and with it, a bunch of new upgrades have officially been announced.
Still, we have some room for a few more gadgets before the year ends. There have been countless rumors about upcoming devices that can possibly still arrive in 2025. Whether you want better tracking for your stuff or are hoping to submerge yourself in the virtual world, these products are coming, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Read on for 5 things we're still hoping to see from Apple before the end of the year.
AirTag 2

The first AirTag made lost-item tracking simple, and a follow-up feels overdue. Luckily, the second-generation AirTags might come very soon.
The next version is expected to feature a second-generation ultra-wideband chip with a significantly longer effective range for precise location finding. Some reports frame the jump as roughly three times the range of the original AirTag, which used Apple's U1 chip.
That kind of bump would help you find keys or bags from farther away and speed up directional guidance when you step inside Bluetooth range.
In terms of design and price, we have bittersweet news. The good news is that the price will likely remain the same. Unfortunately, the design might also stay the same, which means we'll need to get our tools ready to drill another hole into the new AirTags.
In the features department, safety and trust remain a focus. A more tamper-resistant speaker has been rumored, which would make it harder for people to misuse the AirTags to track people (or cars).
There have even been rumors about the AirTag tying in more deeply with Apple’s virtual reality world, which would make searching for your keys easier if you have an Apple Vision Pro.
The release date hasn't been all that clear, but there's still hope we might see the new AirTag near the end of the year. With that said, while Apple tends to hold an event after the iPhone keynote, it usually focuses on other devices, such as the iPad. However, there's also no reason these need to be announced at an event; Apple often slips things out more quietly via press release.
Still, if you're thinking of getting a new tracker, you might be better off waiting, at least for a few more weeks.
Apple TV 4K
A new Apple TV has been in the rumor mill for months, but that might soon come to an end.
The rumors suggest increased processing power and Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips — likely the N1 we saw in this week's iPhone lineup. The design is expected to remain the same, which may not be ideal for users seeking the feel of a new TV box. Still, there's no need to fix the design if it's not broken.
The performance jump could be huge, especially if Apple upgrades from the A15 Bionic chip in the current model to the A17 Pro, as a recent leak suggests. That would help with heavy apps, high frame rate games, and future tvOS features that could make the most out of Apple Intelligence.
Wireless is the other big story. Multiple reports mention an in-house chip, which could potentially bring Wi-Fi 6E or even Wi-Fi 7 into the Apple TV. Plus, a stronger Bluetooth connection is also expected, which would reduce latency when playing games.
Some wilder rumors even suggested that we might see a built-in front-facing camera to make FaceTime even easier on the Apple TV. However, this is unlikely to happen, at least not in the upcoming model.
As we mentioned, rumors about this new TV box have been around for ages, but Apple might launch the new Apple TV before the end of the year.
New HomePod
The HomePod is one of those devices that Apple upgrades and forgets about until it's time to upgrade it again. Luckily for HomePod lovers, Apple might give its home devices a little love in 2025.
The shape will likely stay the same, but the inside will probably improve a lot. Most reports point to a faster S-series processor — likely the S9 from the Apple Watch Series 9 — that will make it more powerful than the current model. Apple is also likely to use its new N1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip here. While we don't know specifics yet, new colors will probably be featured as well.
The stronger chip will help with Siri requests, multi-room playback, and the small bits of on-device Apple Intelligence that Apple continues to implement in all its products. Apple added a neural engine to the S9 for the Apple Watch Series 9 two years ago, so the HomePod mini could benefit from this new NPU power.
Apple's upcoming HomePod software update is expected to introduce crossfade and enhanced voice controls for the HomePod and HomePod mini. With this update, Apple might be getting the current OS ready for an upcoming hardware update that could still land in your living room before the end of 2025.
M5 iPad Pro
Apple’s iPad Pro got a big leap with M4, yet the rumor drum keeps beating for an M5 jump late this year. Several leakers and analysts say that Apple is already in the mass production stage for the iPad Pro, which means we might still see it in 2025. Leaked specs a few days ago even led to speculation that Apple was going to feature it alongside this week's new iPhone lineup. While that didn't happen, it doesn't mean it's not still in the cards.
Unfortunately, we don't expect any design updates for the iPad Pro lineup. Since Apple already made the device incredibly thin last year, it's highly likely that the company will keep the same body for one or two more updates.
This leaves room for improvements on the inside. But what does the M5 chip bring to a tablet that already feels fast? Most likely, the iPad will be the most powerful one yet again, with improvements in graphics, machine learning tasks, and efficiency that extend battery life at the same brightness.
If you cut video on the go, bounce between large RAW files in a studio, or push big numbers in data analysis apps, that extra boost definitely helps. Pair that with iPadOS 26 improvements around multitasking, and the whole setup starts to look more like a portable desktop than a big phone.
Of course, if you have a 2024 iPad Pro, you won't need to update your tablet this year. However, if you're in need of the speed of a brand-new iPad, we recommend waiting at least a few more weeks before making a purchase.
Apple Vision Pro 2
The next Apple Vision Pro sits in a weird place in the rumor mill. The most consistent reports point to a refresh that focuses on a processor swap to the ultra-powerful M5 chip, while leaving the current design mostly intact.
Even with a similar body, a jump in processor will definitely give enough power to Apple's headset to become an incredible productivity machine, provided that there are enough professional apps for the job.
At one point, there were also rumors that Apple might change the headband to make the overall headset weight less and be more comfortable to use for longer periods of time.
Some positive rumors claim that Apple might still release the second-generation Apple Vision Pro in 2025, so we'll have to wait and see if the company still has a surprise for us.
Apple Isn't Done Just Yet
Apple, like any big tech company, is constantly working on new products and updates throughout the year. Because of this, leakers tend to always know about some product that might launch soon.
This year isn't any different. Even if Apple already revealed its biggest products of the year, the company could still have a surprise or two before the end of the year.
Whether you're looking to get a powerful tablet or a more comfortable headset, there are many reasons why you might want to wait for a few more weeks before making a big purchase this year.
