There’s also the possibility that Apple will unveil the AirPods Max 2, which are a much-needed upgrade.

The bad news is that we haven’t heard many rumors about the AirPods Max. With that said, we can still speculate on what we know based on the AirPods Pro. It’s a given that Apple will ditch the Lightning port, and there’s a reasonably good chance it will add the H2 chip to support new features like iOS 17’s Adaptive Audio and the new Siri gestures in iOS 18.

Unfortunately, we aren’t expecting any big changes in the design or battery life, other than possibly some new colors. Still, it will be a welcome update for people who love over-ear headphones.

The AirPods Max 2 might launch during Apple’s September event. However, Apple may quietly announce them later this year, as it did with the originals, or even push back the release date to 2025. So don’t get your hopes up just yet.
