The iPhone 9 might be right around the corner claims a new rumor. According to Twitter user Jon Prosser, Apple recently held several internal meetings to discuss the release date for the iPhone 9.

At the most recent meeting, those present agreed to announce the iPhone 9 on April 15 and begin shipping the new device on April 22. These dates are tentative and may change due to the coronavirus epidemic.

To prepare for the launch, Apple reportedly is sending iMacs to select retail employees. These employees will be trained ahead of the iPhone 9 launch and will provide online sales and tech support for the new iPhone model.

Not only is Apple going to release the iPhone 9, code in a leaked version of iOS 14 suggests the company also may release an iPhone 9 Plus model with a larger display.

This rumor correlates with previous rumors that suggest Apple will launch the low-cost iPhone 9, aka iPhone SE 2, this spring. This phone is not necessarily an update to the original iPhone SE, but instead may replace the iPhone 8 in Apple’s lineup.
