7 Exciting Apple Products We’re Still Waiting For

Apple showcased a bunch of new products this year. From the long-awaited AirTag to the rumored AirPods 3. Yes, 2021 was a big year for both Apple and its users – but that doesn't mean Apple has run out of ideas. The company's working on many new products and updates that we can't wait to see. At least, according to the rumors. There have been many reports about many Apple devices that are in development right now. Likely, we won't see them in 2021, but this means 2022 will be just as exciting for the tech world and Apple fans. And no, we're not talking about the rumored AR headset, Apple Car, and foldable iPhone. Continue reading to browse seven products that Apple might actually come out next year.
A New Mac mini
Just last year, Apple surprised us with the first Apple Silicon Mac mini. And even though it was (and still is) an amazing M1 Mac, rumor has it Apple's already working on something even better. According to Apple leaker Jon Prosser, as well as other reports, Apple's working on a new Mac mini that'll be even more powerful than the current model. On the outside, rumors say this new Mac mini will feature a more compact design. It was also rumored Apple would use the so-called M2 chip. Now, however, Apple may use either the M1 Pro chip or even the M1 Max. But who knows, Apple might actually release the M2 chip for more affordable Macs. The new Mac mini is said to be released at some point during 2022.
A Colorful MacBook Air
Alongside the new Mac mini, there's been a ton of rumors regarding a new MacBook Air. This MacBook Air is going to be more powerful and more elegant than before. Design-wise, the new MacBook Air is supposed to feature white bezels, a white keyboard, and a flatter design. Apple will also add different color options similar to the 2021 iMac. Other rumors point out that this MacBook will also have a MagSafe charger, which is possible since Apple brought it back with the new MacBook Pros. And whether you like it or hate it, it seems like the new MacBook will also come with a notch. The good news is that it means a larger screen. The bad news means, well, a notch. This computer is also said to have the M2 chip inside, and it's supposed to come sometime in the middle of 2022, probably with the Mac mini.
A Feature-Packed Apple Pencil 3
Many digital artists are probably waiting for this one. Rumors point out that Apple is developing the third-generation Apple Pencil. The biggest change with the Apple Pencil 3 is going to be its color. Many "leaked" images showcase a black Apple Pencil with a slightly new design. As for its features, we don't know exactly what Apple may add to the new Apple Pencil. However, patents have led us to believe the new Apple Pencil might have Force Touch capabilities and even determine orientation and movement. We don't know exactly when Apple is thinking about releasing the Apple Pencil 3, but we may see it next year since Apple hasn't taken more than three years to release a new Apple Pencil.
The First Apple Silicon Mac Pro
After Apple revealed it would start working on their own Apple Silicon chips, many people wondered how long would it take for Apple to add this chip to the Mac Pro, the most powerful Mac Apple makes. Now that Apple has revealed the new M1 Pro and M1 Mac chips, it's possible that we're closer to seeing the first Apple Silicon Mac Pro. With that said, there aren't any rumors that say when Apple is releasing this new machine. Rumor does say that Apple is working on not one but two new Mac Pros. Both models will feature a smaller design and would come with up to 128 core GPUs, and the Apple Silicon chip would have up to 32-high-performance cores and up to eight high-efficiency cores.
A 5G iPhone SE
If you're a fan of the iPhone SE, you're going to love these rumors. It seems like Apple is working on a new "Plus" version of the iPhone SE that's said to come as soon as next year. However, don't expect big design changes. This iPhone SE will have a 4.7" LCD display, like the iPhone 8. It would also feature a more powerful chip and would be the first iPhone SE that supports 5G. If that doesn't surprise you, there are other rumors about a bigger iPhone SE that'll come in 2023. This phone is said to come with a punch-hole camera at the front and no notch. It's also said to have a similar design to the iPhone XR.
The New AirPods Pro 2
Alongside the newly released AirPods 3, Apple is said to be working on the second-generation AirPods Pro 2, albeit we don't know exactly when they will come out. The new AirPods Pro are rumored to have a more compact design, similar to the Google Pixel Buds or Samsung Galaxy Buds. That means Apple might get rid of the stem entirely on this model. There are also rumors that these AirPods will have a new wireless chip and many improvements in sound quality. We don't know when Apple will release these new AirPods Pro, but we expect to see them next year.
A Bigger iMac
Apple recently discontinued the iMac Pro right before announcing the new M1 iMac. And while many people love the 2021 iMac, some of us are still hoping for the return of the iMac Pro with Apple Silicon. Fortunately, we might get the next best thing: A bigger iMac. There were rumors that Apple was working on two iMac models with a larger display. But apparently, Apple had to stop working on it to launch the current iMac. Now, it's possible that Apple will resume working on these bigger iMac models. It's possible that it'll feature an even more powerful chip than the current generation, although we're not exactly sure when Apple will launch it.
