We Might Finally See the AirPods 3
We’ve been hearing about the third-generation AirPods 3 (pictured left) for a while now, and we actually expected Apple to announce them during its May event. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Still, many rumors suggest that the AirPods 3 are ready to launch.
Leaker Jon Prosser said that Apple had the AirPods 3 and iMac ready since the end of last year. And although he’s not always right, Apple has already revealed the 2021 iMac. What’s cool about these new AirPods—at least according to rumors—is that they’ll have similar styling cues to the AirPods Pro. This means a shorter stem and ear tips.
The AirPods 3 would also have Transparency Mode because of the new design. Sadly, it seems like Apple won’t add Noise Cancellation, and it will remain exclusive to the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. The case will also be similar to the AirPods Pro case. Other than that, we expect to see longer battery life and better sound quality. And they should go for around $199, similar to the current AirPods.
