Apple may be looking to introduce a number of new Clock Faces and Complications for their Apple Watch. A new listing on Apple’s internal job board popped up yesterday looking for a software engineer for the “Apple Watch – Clock Face Team”.

According to the listing, the candidate will “be responsible for building the Clock Faces and Complications,” working closely with “the UI design, iOS Frameworks, and QA teams to develop interactions of superior quality that will ship to millions of users.”

Apple has offered several different watch face options for users of the Apple Watch since it was introduced. With the release of watchOS 2 last September, we saw the introduction of three new clock faces in the Time Lapse, Photo, and Photo Album faces.

Since the release of watchOS 2, the only new face we’ve seen for the Apple Watch is the custom Hermès watch face, available only to customers who have purchased one of the luxury Hermès model Apple Watches. Because of Apple’s tightly controlled ecosystem, however, third-party watch faces aren’t available for the Apple Watch, unlike some of the Apple Watch’s competitors. This has left some Apple Watch owners yearning for more customization options for their wearable.

New Apple Watch Friendly Terminals Make Airline Travel Less StressfulIt’s possible that Apple will look to introduce several more faces for the Apple Watch, along with several new band options at a March 15th event that will likely also see the release of a new, 4-inch iPhone and the iPad Air 3.

There is also plenty of speculation that the watchOS 2.2 software update may also debut at the event. However, beta version 2.2 hasn’t shown any indication that new faces will be available in the software update. While the job listing indicates that Apple is indeed working on introducing new faces and complications, it may take some time before we see them.
