5 New Features That Make Upgrading to the Apple Watch Series 7 Worth It
After months of waiting, Apple finally announced the new Apple Watch Series 7. Although it wasn't quite what we expected, and no new health features were added to the Series 7, the new Apple Watch still has some exclusive features, including ones Apple didn't mention but only showed in a promotional video. That said, here are 5 New Features That Make Upgrading to the Apple Watch Series 7 Worth It.
A Larger Display
It may not be the biggest change or upgrade everyone was expecting, but the Apple Watch Series 7 is getting a larger screen than previous models. What Apple did was reduce the borders of the Apple Watch.
According to Apple, the borders on the Series 7 are 40% thinner than Series 6. Moreover, Series 7 features 20% more screen area than Series 6 and 50% more screen area than Series 3.
New Exclusive Watch Faces
Again, it is not the biggest Apple Watch upgrade, but Apple said it created a few exclusive watch faces that you won't get on older Watches due to the larger display. The first example Apple gave was the Contour watch face, which keeps the dial to the edge and animates the current hour throughout the day.
There are also other watch faces like the Modular Duo face, which features two more data-rich complications. It may not seem like much, but it's good to know that you'll have more room for more information on your Apple Watch.
More Durable Display
Speaking of displays, Apple made sure that the Series 7 Watch is as durable as possible for your everyday life. It features a 50% thicker display than that of the Series 6, making it more crack-resistant than before. Don't worry; this will not affect the clarity of the Watch, and it'll work just as well.
The First Dust-Resistant Apple Watch
The Apple Watch has been water-resistant for a few years now, but the Series 7 marks the first Apple Watch that also has a dust-resistant certification. It's certified IP6X dust-resistant, so it won't be a problem if you leave it on the sand or in a dusty place. Likewise, the Series 7 keeps the same WR50 water-resistance rating as before, so it'll be an even better companion for your trips to the beach.
Faster Charging
Apple confirmed that the Series 7 will have, on average, the same 18 hours of battery life as the Series 6. What's different, though, it's how fast the Series 7 will charge.
According to Apple, the Series 7 will have up to 33% faster charging compared to the Series 6. So you'll now be able to charge your Apple Watch to 80% in just 45 minutes. What's more impressive is that you can track up to 8 hours of sleep with just an 8-minute charge.
But of course, for this, you'll also need a new Magnetic Fast Charger USB-C cable, which will be included in the box.
