The Handoff Feature
Instead of forgetting what you were working on, or starting over, you can use the ingenious Handoff feature and pick up where you left off between your Apple devices.
Handoff is a feature that lets you continue using the same app on another Apple device without losing what you were doing.
If you use it on the Safari app, your iPhone or iPad will open the same web page you were looking at. You can even copy and paste text, images, and videos from one device to the other.
First, you’ll need to make sure that Handoff is enabled on all of your Apple devices. Here’s what you need to do.
Enable Handoff on Mac:
- Click on the Apple Menu at the top right corner.
- Choose System Preferences…
- Click General.
- Select Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
Enable Handoff on iPhone, iPad
- Launch the Settings app.
- Tap on General.
- Select Airplay & Handoff.
- Make sure Handoff is enabled.
You can test Handoff by opening Safari on your iPhone and then going to the App Switcher on your iPad. You should see the app at the right of the Dock with a small icon at the top.
